Chapter 368
Chapter 368:
“You’re really pathetic,” he mused. “If she isn’t scared, why are you? You’re just a coward, a complete coward!”
He remembered a time when he lost a bet to Fernanda, and she had him shout, “I am a loser!” three times in the town square.
It seemed she was right; he really was pathetic.
Kevin sighed deeply, covering his face with his hands.
By late afternoon, Fernanda spotted Cristian near the university’s main gate. His ride was a sleek, black sedan—subtle yet unmistakably luxurious. As she approached, she watched the passenger door swing open from within, and she slipped inside. Cristian glanced at her.
Dressed in a white shirt with his hair neatly slicked back, his broad forehead fully exposed, Cristian’s distinct features—sharp eyebrows, a prominent nose, and deep, tranquil black eyes—were strikingly handsome. One could almost feel their spirit ensnared by his intense stare.
“Should we head to that restaurant we tried before?” Cristian proposed. Recalling Fernanda’s previous compliments about the place, he figured she might enjoy a revisit.
As expected, Fernanda nodded. “Sure, let’s do it.”
At the restaurant, Fernanda chose steak this evening, a different recipe but equally succulent, its rich flavor lingering.
“After our meal, I have a place in mind to take you,” Cristian said.
“Where are we headed?”
“To Zero Degree,” Cristian replied.
Fernanda pieced together that it related to the incident from the previous day. They arrived at Zero Degree, where they encountered Leon.
Surprise was evident on Leon’s face upon seeing them together, yet urgent issues demanded attention.

“Mr. Reed, your family has arrived,” Leon said to Cristian.
Cristian asked casually, “Who is it?”
“It’s…” Leon cast a glance at Fernanda by his side and continued, “Your mother is here.”
Hearing Leon’s words, Fernanda froze.
Cristian’s mother was here?
She quickly turned her head toward Cristian, who stood beside her, his eyes cast downward, his face unreadable as though a wall had been erected around his thoughts.
“I understand,” Cristian said calmly, his voice betraying no emotion, before turning to Fernanda. “Let’s go inside.” Fernanda gave a brief nod.
There was nothing out of the ordinary about walking in with Cristian now. Since his mother had arrived, it was clear she was here to pick up the boy. And with Fernanda having a past clash with him, it made perfect sense for her to take charge of the situation. Curiosity crept into Fernanda’s mind, wondering what kind of person Cristian’s mother would turn out to be.
Would she be as difficult to handle as Judie, Bobby’s mother?
