Fernanda took a glass, expressed her gratitude, and sipped the wine. Interestingly, Jordyn showed no signs of recognition.
Fernanda also noted a discrepancy between Jordyn’s actual personality and her initial impression from photos. She had expected someone demure, yet Jordyn was decidedly assertive.
As they drank, Cristian matched Fernanda glass for glass, the wine mild enough to stave off any concerns about intoxication.
“Actually, Cristian, Haley called me earlier,” Jordyn interjected suddenly. “She’s hoping we’ll visit her tomorrow.”
“No,” Cristian responded flatly.
“Oh, please,” Jordyn pleaded, lightly tugging at his arm. “I’ve already told Haley you’d join us. It’d be really awkward if we didn’t show.”
Cristian gently disengaged his arm. “I said no,” he said again, more adamantly.
“But Haley leaves tomorrow afternoon. We really should catch up with her over lunch,” Jordyn continued. “She’s been incredibly good to me. I can’t just ignore her, right? Please come with me, okay?”
Understanding that Haley was both Cristian’s stepmother and his aunt, Fernanda grasped his aversion to her.
Just as Cristian was about to respond, Bobby’s voice interrupted from nearby, saying, “Cristian?”
Everyone turned. Bobby’s gaze shifted from Cristian to Jordyn and then to Fernanda, his expression one of complete confusion. What was unfolding here?
Three sets of eyes shifted toward Bobby, making him feel a little uneasy.
“Uh… well…” He scratched the back of his head, fumbling with his words. “I was just passing by… didn’t mean to interrupt. Please, go ahead!” With that, Bobby began to walk away.
As he moved, his eyes met Cristian’s, and he sent him a cheeky wink.

Cristian was something else—navigating between two women like it was nothing. He, on the other hand, couldn’t even deal with Wendy.
But then, Jordyn called after him with a smile. “Bobby, it’s been forever! Why don’t you stay for a drink? Why are you running off?”
During Cristian’s time studying abroad, Bobby had made several trips to visit him. Part of it was to catch up with him, but also, Bobby couldn’t deny he enjoyed the adventure. As a result, he’d met Jordyn, though they hadn’t exactly become close.
But Jordyn was impossible to miss—her warm, friendly nature made it easy for her to connect with anyone, always bubbly and full of life.
Since Jordyn was one of Cristian’s friends, Bobby couldn’t exactly turn down her invitation. He had no choice but to abandon his attempt to sneak away and instead made his way back to the sofa.
He ended up sitting next to Fernanda, directly across from Jordyn.
Jordyn’s bright, expressive eyes were dancing between Fernanda and Bobby, full of excitement.
