Chapter 401:

Fernanda finally gave in to her enthusiasm. “Okay, okay, I’ll go with you.” Sloane’s face lit up, clearly thrilled by the answer.

Jordyn’s lecture was being held in a grand hall on campus. The tickets Sloane obtained gave them a great view—they were seated right in the center of the front row.

The first row was packed with professors and lecturers, and Fernanda and Sloane sat directly behind them.

The lights on stage flickered on, and Jordyn stepped out from behind the curtains.

She wore a sharp, deep blue outfit, her hair flowing gracefully behind her, radiating an air of calm intellect and effortless poise.

“She’s beautiful, but don’t you think she looks a bit different from her online photo? I actually think she looks better in person,” Sloane leaned toward Fernanda, her voice barely a whisper.

Jordyn’s voice filled the room through the microphone, clear and steady, reaching every corner of the lecture hall.

Even though she held a thick stack of notes, she barely glanced at them as she spoke, her words flowing naturally and engagingly. Her tone shifted with ease, keeping the audience captivated.

Economics lectures are often dry and dull for many, but Jordyn’s session was the complete opposite. She kept the audience involved and thinking, and hardly anyone seemed to lose focus.

Jordyn often paused to ask questions, encouraging students to share their thoughts. It wasn’t just about keeping the mood lively; she wanted to spark real conversations and ideas among them.

“Her ability to command the room is incredible,” Sloane leaned in, whispering to Fernanda. “Even with all the energy in here, it’s so well-organized—nothing feels out of control.”

Fernanda smiled, giving a slight nod in agreement.

As the lecture went on, the topics Jordyn covered grew more challenging, moving from basic concepts to much more complex material.

On the other hand, Sloane had already stifled several yawns. She was lost, struggling to make sense of any of it. It felt like she was hearing everything in a completely foreign language.

“This is unbearable,” Sloane grumbled, slumping over her desk, her eyes fixed sadly on Fernanda, who was still focused on the lecture. “Fernanda, do you actually understand any of this?”

“Just a bit,” Fernanda answered calmly.

Sloane let out a deep sigh. “I really regret coming here. I’m just wasting three precious hours of my life.”

Fernanda glanced at Sloane’s weary expression and couldn’t resist teasing her. “You weren’t really here for the lecture, were you? You came to see Jordyn. Now that you’ve seen her, you’re losing interest.”

“I mean, she’s pretty, but not worth three hours of my time. She’s nothing special; there are too many women like her out there.”
