Chapter 415
Chapter 415:
Taking several deep breaths to steady herself, she said softly, “No… I can keep going. I want to continue…”
She then increased the treadmill’s settings and resumed her run.
Fernanda watched, slightly taken aback by Sloane’s resolve.
After Sloane battled through the final ten minutes, she leaned heavily on the treadmill’s handrails, utterly spent yet triumphant.
Fernanda guided her to a yoga mat, helping her stretch out and unwind.
Revived by the effort, Sloane felt rejuvenated.
Vinson, seeing their hard work, said, “How about I treat you both to dinner? There’s a great vegetarian place I know nearby.”
Before Fernanda could reply, Sloane enthusiastically chimed in, “Yes, please. I’m really hungry!”
With Sloane’s excitement, Fernanda saw no reason to decline and smiled.
“That sounds wonderful. Thank you, Mr. Turner.”
Once Fernanda and Sloane wrapped up their stretching routine, they freshened up with a shower, changed into clean clothes in the locker room, and dried their hair. Feeling refreshed, they made their way to the lobby, where Vinson was patiently waiting for them.
Vinson was dressed casually in a white T-shirt and gray pants, which downplayed the intensity of his gym-sculpted body.
His hair, freshly washed and dried, hung slightly over his sharp brows, making him look a little gentler.
When he noticed the pair descending the stairs, he gave them a slight nod, his eyes resting on Sloane for a brief moment.
Feeling his gaze, Sloane instinctively gripped the hem of her dress, her back stiffening with tension.

She quickly glanced at her outfit, reassuring herself there was nothing out of place. The dress was neat, her shoes were spotless, and the bow on her head was perfectly straight. Without the pannier she usually wore, she felt her appearance was understated—far from anything attention-grabbing.
Fernanda picked up on Sloane’s sudden nervous energy but couldn’t quite grasp the reason behind it.
Vinson’s attention lingered for no more than two seconds before his expression turned neutral again. Rising to his feet, he simply said, “Let’s head out.”
Without waiting, he took long, purposeful strides, leaving Fernanda and Sloane trailing behind. Fernanda slowed her pace slightly, aligning herself with Sloane’s hesitant steps.
Leaning closer to Fernanda, Sloane whispered, “Don’t you find him a little… intimidating?”
“Not really,” Fernanda replied with a puzzled look. “What exactly do you find scary about him?”
