Chapter 416
Chapter 416:
“He never smiles,” Sloane exclaimed. “And earlier, I saw that his biceps are massive. If he ever punched me, I’d be a goner.”
Fernanda gave a small nod. “His muscles are impressive, sure, but why on earth would he punch you?”
She couldn’t help but wonder if Sloane was being overly paranoid. Did she really think Vinson would knock her out with one punch? Was that why he seemed intimidating to her?
Sloane shuddered slightly. “It’s just that he’s so serious all the time. He kind of reminds me of my dad.”
Fernanda didn’t know how to respond and fell quiet.
She couldn’t help but wonder how Vinson, still under thirty, would react if he found out he was being compared to the father of a college girl.
By the time they left the lobby, Vinson was already waiting for them in his car near the entrance.
He was behind the wheel of a massive SUV, its oversized tires making it look like a towering giant to Sloane.
She had a hard time climbing into the towering vehicle, all while trying to keep her elaborate dress in place.
Sloane wondered why men were so drawn to these over-the-top, beastly cars anyway.
But as she glanced at Vinson, she couldn’t deny that his car suited him perfectly—a tough guy in an equally tough ride.
The restaurant Vinson had talked about was just a short drive away, and they reached it in under ten minutes.
It was expansive, spanning over a hundred square meters, with a minimalist, modern design that offered a refreshing vibe at first glance.

It was now dinner time, and the restaurant buzzed with activity, with the coveted window seats already occupied. As such, the three of them opted for an available table deeper inside.
Vinson passed the menu to Fernanda and Sloane, taking a moment to point out some of the restaurant’s popular specialties.
Sloane immediately dove into the menu and flipped through the pages with eager curiosity.
In the past, she wouldn’t have touched these kinds of dishes, dismissing raw, unseasoned salads as bland and unappetizing.
Yet today, the vibrant pictures of crisp, fresh vegetables were strangely enticing. She could almost taste their crunch and imagined the refreshing burst of flavors rejuvenating her from within.
Typically a fan of fried and puffed snacks, Sloane found herself uncharacteristically uninterested. Just the thought of greasy food made her stomach churn.
