Chapter 452:

A lazy smile tugged at his lips as he chuckled. “Are you enjoying the view?”

His question struck like a bolt of lightning, pulling Fernanda out of her thoughts and back to reality.

She quickly turned her head, avoiding his eyes, looking anywhere but at him.

“Just focus on your food,” she said flatly, doing her best to hide her embarrassment.

It was bad enough that he’d caught her staring, but now he had to point it out.

Wasn’t it him with his shirt half undone, practically begging for attention?

Cristian noticed the flush in Fernanda’s ears and couldn’t help but smile, turning his gaze away with satisfaction. He grabbed a fork and took a mouthful of spaghetti. The taste was surprisingly good.

“You like some?” Cristian asked, glancing at Fernanda.

“No, I already ate earlier,” Fernanda replied. “Our college had a gathering tonight. I made this for you.”

Cristian met her gaze, his expression sincere as he spoke each word carefully. “I feel honored.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the sharp sound of a code being entered rang out from the door.

The door to Cristian’s apartment suddenly flew open.

Jordyn stepped inside, two bags in her hands.

For a brief moment, all three of them stood frozen, eyes wide in shock. Fernanda hadn’t expected Jordyn to show up, and Cristian was left wondering how she had gotten in.

Jordyn, on the other hand, clearly hadn’t expected to find them alone in Cristian’s place, especially not in the middle of the night.

The air between them thickened, and an uncomfortable silence settled.

Fernanda, Cristian, and Jordyn exchanged glances, each one silently daring the other to speak first.

For a brief moment, the air seemed thick with tension, the silence almost unbearable.

Cristian was the one who finally shattered the stillness, his voice cutting through the quiet. “What brings you here?”

“I called you,” Jordyn replied. “You didn’t pick up, and you didn’t reply to my messages. I was worried something might have happened to you.” She placed the bags at the door, her expression shifting from surprise to something more neutral. “After all, you’ve never been one to visit the hospital when you’re unwell. How could I not be concerned?” Her attention turned to Fernanda, a smile blooming across her face. “Miss Morgan, I had no idea you were here as well. If I’d known, I would have brought enough for all three of us.”

Jordyn walked over to the table, her eyes narrowing slightly at the sight of the bowls. “Cristian, is this really what you’re eating? This isn’t good for you. It’s lacking in nutrition, and the ribs are way too greasy. You need to cut back on this kind of food.”
