Chapter 458
Chapter 458:
In the dream, the young boy was gone, and so was Mr. Bernard. But unlike before, this time, Cristian appeared.
He looked just as he did now. He squatted in front of her and gently took the cake from her hands. “Don’t cry. From now on, I’ll celebrate your birthdays with you.”
In the dream, she followed him away from the garden villa and into his apartment.
Cristian prepared a delicate feast for her. He also gave her a precious gift, then wrapped her in a tight embrace.
Suddenly, Fernanda jolted awake. She sat up straight in bed, her breathing uneven. Her hand instinctively rested on her lower back, where she could still feel the warmth of Cristian’s hand.
For a moment, she was caught in a haze, unable to discern whether the scenes playing in her mind belonged to the dream or reality. Was it just her imagination? Or were these flashes of memory from her recent visit to Cristian’s place when he had held her?
Her heart raced as the intimate moments replayed themselves over and over again.
The more she thought about it, the more uneasy she felt. Trying to shake off the feeling, she slipped on her shoes, grabbed a bottle of cold water from the mini-fridge, and took a few sips.
The cool liquid slid down her throat, bringing a refreshing chill that cleared her mind.
Slowly, the events of the day began to fade into the background. Fernanda murmured to herself, “It was just a bit of contact, so why make such a big deal out of it?”
Feeling slightly more composed, she walked over to the window and drew back the heavy curtains.
Bright sunlight spilled into the room, filling the space with a comforting glow. It was a beautiful day.
She opened the window, letting the crisp morning air fill the room. Glancing at the clock, she saw it was just past ten. Her first class wasn’t until three in the afternoon, so she still had plenty of time to relax.

After drawing the sheer curtains to soften the light, she lay back on her bed.
Though she wasn’t sleepy anymore, the quietness of the moment felt soothing. She picked up her phone and saw a new message…
Cristian.
It had been sent at five in the morning. Attached to it was a photo. The image showed a dark, tranquil night. The details were faint, the outlines blurred, but the moon stood out.
It looked like a luminous silver coin suspended in the sky. Wisps of clouds drifted across it, adding a soft, ethereal beauty to the scene. Below the picture, Cristian had typed, “The moon is lovely, but it’s not as beautiful as you.”
Fernanda grabbed some takeout for a quick meal, then took a brief nap to recharge. By the time the clock neared three, she walked into the classroom.
Sloane was already there, casually sitting in her chair and absentmindedly scrolling through her phone.
