Chapter 470
Chapter 470:
Though he tried to appear unconcerned, Fernanda saw right through his pretense of indifference.
She always sensed that Neal carried more worries than he let on, as if burdened with numerous silent troubles.
Eager to help, Fernanda suggested, “Ever thought about jumping ship to another platform?”
“I hadn’t, mainly because of the big penalty for breaking my current contract,” Neal responded. “But recently, other platforms have started to woo me with better offers. Well, I’m still hesitant.”
He confessed his unfamiliarity with the alternatives and his fear of potentially worsening his situation.
“I know of a streaming company that’s hiring. If you’re interested, I could put in a good word for you,” Fernanda said. “The signing fee should definitely top what you’re getting now. It’s a smaller outfit, though, so it might not pull the same numbers as your current place. You would have to think it over carefully.”
Neal turned to face Fernanda. “A company you’re familiar with?”
Fernanda confirmed with a nod. “Yes.”
“I’m in.” Neal decided on the spot.
With a gentle laugh, Fernanda teased, “Wow, that was fast! Wouldn’t you like to take a moment to reconsider?”
Neal’s response came with a confident shake of his head. “I trust you.” Through their time together, Neal had come to know Fernanda as someone both serene and insightful. Her maturity seemed to stretch far beyond her years.
This deep-seated trust in her wisdom was why he felt secure in his rapid choice. If she suggested a company, he had no doubt it would live up to his expectations.
His quick decision caught Fernanda off guard, leaving her speechless for a moment.

In reality, she wasn’t familiar with any streaming companies. She had been planning to start one on her own.
She had big dreams of entering the media world. While Bright Lights Media was flourishing in news reporting, it struggled in other aspects. Fernanda aimed to expand its other departments, including entertainment and streaming.
She saw a diversified media company as the solution for long-term growth.
With that in mind, Fernanda advised, “Okay, don’t renew your current contract. I’ll talk things over with a friend and fill you in once we’ve got everything arranged.”
“Sounds good,” Neal agreed, nodding.
The weekend had arrived. Robert’s call redirected Fernanda from her plans to return to the dorm, prompting farewells at the entrance.
Ector’s car was already there, waiting.
