Chapter 471
Chapter 471:
Approaching, Fernanda noticed the door swing open.
Esaham’s winter was harsher than in Zhota, the winds sharper and more severe. Ector sat there, dressed in a light gray turtleneck, his sharp features softened by the garment’s gentle shade.
Catching Fernanda’s gaze, Ector turned and asked with a warm tone,
“What’s caught your eye?”
“Just checking to see if you have changed at all,” Fernanda answered.
Ector’s laughter rang out softly. “It’s barely been a month. How much could I have changed? But you, have you gotten thinner? Are you eating well?”
Fernanda’s fingers instinctively went to her cheeks. Thinner? She doubted it.
Ector continued, “The rigors of Esaham University, especially with your curriculum and any additional game training, must be wearing you down. Remember to look after yourself. If it’s overwhelming, consider not staying on campus. We can have a driver shuttle you daily, and our cook can prepare wholesome meals for you.”
Fernanda quickly dismissed the idea with a wave of her hand. “Oh, I’m tougher than I look.”
She reasoned internally that returning home daily might actually worsen her appetite, given the tense atmosphere with Robert and Michelle.
Understanding her hesitation, Ector chose not to insist.
Their conversation shifted to lighter topics, and Fernanda asked about the latest developments at Voligny Company. It was a relief to hear that the recent crisis had settled and operations were back to normal. Ector smiled, saying, “Dad has been full of praise for you ever since you ran the company through those rough waters.”
Fernanda’s face remained impassive, her expression revealing nothing.
To her, Robert was as distant as a stranger.

Outside the Morgan family villa, the winter had stripped the garden of its summer vibrancy, leaving it stark and empty.
The large courtyard, lacking any greenery, revealed the weathered base of the walls. The uneven marks gave the place a sense of timeless character.
A brisk wind whipped through, sneaking under Fernanda’s collar and eliciting a shiver from her.
As the door swung open and they stepped inside, a rush of warmth enveloped them.
Robert reclined on the sofa, absorbed in the television, while Kevin was engrossed in a video game on another chair.
At the footsteps, Kevin’s eyes flickered to Fernanda, then quickly away, as if intimidated by her presence.
Robert, spotting Fernanda, enthusiastically waved her over, adopting the act of a caring father.
