Fernanda couldn’t help but think that it would have been much better if Bobby had chosen something with a little more fabric.
After giving the dresses one final glance, she shook her head. “None of these are my style.”
“Alright then, let’s head somewhere else,” Bobby replied casually, signaling the staff to clear the remaining dresses.
As the dresses were wheeled away, Erika, still brooding nearby, caught the movement out of the corner of her eye. The store manager approached her with a polite smile. “Miss, would you still be interested in that dress?”
Erika turned sharply, her mood lifting as she spotted the gown she’d been longing for.
Her eyes sparkled with excitement. “Wait, it’s available? I thought you said someone reserved it?”
The manager’s smile widened slightly. “The customer decided to go with another option instead.”
Erika’s heart raced with joy. Without wasting a second, she instructed the staff to take down the dress for her to try on.
She hadn’t anticipated crossing paths with Bobby and Fernanda just as they were leaving the fitting room.
She paused for a moment, surprised by the encounter.
Fernanda, catching sight of the dress the staff was holding behind Erika, smiled and offered a compliment. “Nice choice, that dress really suits you.”
Her tone carried no malice, and her compliment sounded genuine. Erika, with her flawless complexion, looked stunning in the pink dress she had chosen.
Still, something about Fernanda’s praise unsettled Erika.

Without another word, Fernanda turned and walked away, Bobby trailing her casually.
Erika shot a sharp look at their retreating forms, her dissatisfaction clear. Her gaze then shifted to the dress the staff was holding. “Are we the only ones shopping here today?” she asked.
The staff, after a brief pause, nodded. “Yes, Miss, you are.”
Erika’s chest tightened as frustration bubbled up inside her.
The dresses now laid out before her were the very ones Fernanda had rejected. Was she truly going to accept Fernanda’s discarded choices? If it had been anyone else, Erika might have shrugged it off. But Fernanda? That was an entirely different matter.
It felt as though she were picking through the scraps left behind by Fernanda’s whims.
In an instant, the dress lost all its charm to Erika.
“I don’t want it,” she said firmly, her voice colder than before. “I’ll look somewhere else.”
Without waiting for a response, she grabbed Michelle and strode out of the boutique with sharp, purposeful steps.
