Chapter 473
Chapter 473:
But no amount of annoyance could change the situation.
Frustrated and deflated, she reluctantly tagged along on a shopping trip with Michelle.
“What’s troubling you, sweetheart?” Michelle asked, wrapping her arms around her visibly dejected daughter. She assumed Erika’s sour mood stemmed from Robert’s sudden kindness to Fernanda. Hoping to lift her spirits, she added brightly, “Didn’t you mention that dress you’ve been wanting for ages? Let’s go get it today!”
The mention of the dress made Erika’s gloom fade slightly. Her lips curved into a smile as she responded eagerly, “Really? That would be amazing!”
The dress in question was an exquisite creation from a renowned designer—something Erika had admired longingly in a glossy magazine spread. Its elegance captivated her, but the exorbitant price made it unattainable, especially since Robert would never fund such an indulgence.
This time, though, circumstances had shifted. With the prestigious Reed family banquet coming up, Robert intended to showcase their family in the best light. He had reluctantly approved Erika’s request to splurge on a few extravagant purchases, believing the higher the cost, the greater the prestige.
Erika couldn’t contain her delight.
However, when they arrived at the store, Erika’s heart sank. The dress she had dreamed of was already reserved for someone else.
A wave of frustration washed over her.
The store manager, wearing a polite smile, delivered the news. “I’m afraid it was just taken. Would you like to see something else? Our early spring collection is quite beautiful.”
High-end dresses were often limited editions—one piece per style. Once reserved, there was no chance of getting it.
Erika’s mood grew darker, her excitement crumbling into disappointment.

Meanwhile, in the store’s luxurious fitting room, Fernanda admired an array of exquisite dresses displayed before her.
Bobby, lounging on the sofa and casually munching on snacks he’d managed to grab, glanced up and asked, “So, Fernanda, find anything you like? We could always head to another store. My mom’s a VIP here, and she swears by the quality of their handmade dresses. The designs are unique, and they’re incredibly comfortable too.”
Fernanda tilted her head thoughtfully. “What do you think?”
Without hesitation, Bobby flashed a mischievous grin and gestured toward one particular dress. “I like this one.”
Following his gaze, Fernanda’s eyes landed on a striking red gown. It was bold and alluring, the kind of dress that commanded attention. The cut-out waist and open back added a daring touch, leaving little to the imagination.
“If I buy this for you, Cristian will probably murder me,” Bobby joked. “So, as much as I like it, it’s not going to happen.”
