Chapter 521
Chapter 521:
Fernanda didn’t so much as blink at his words. She spoke clearly into the phone, explaining the situation without an ounce of hesitation.
When Beckett realized she was serious, his fury boiled over. He lunged at her, aiming to snatch the phone from her grasp, but Fernanda sidestepped him effortlessly.
With a swift kick to his thigh, she sent him staggering back like a puppet with its strings cut.
Beckett snarled and charged again, but by then, Fernanda had already ended the call.
Beckett hissed through clenched teeth, pointing an accusatory finger at her. “You meddling fool, you’ll regret this! Mark my words!”
He turned to storm off, but Fernanda wasn’t about to let him slip away so easily.
With swift precision, she lunged forward, grabbing the back of his shirt with a firm grip. Beckett thrashed angrily, but with a series of calculated, almost predatory moves, Fernanda had him pinned to the ground in no time.
“I already called the police,” Fernanda said, her voice ice-cold. “And yet, you still think you can bolt? How do you expect me to explain that when they arrive?”
Her eyes burned with intensity as she stared him down, her voice sharp enough to cut through steel.
“You’re running off the moment things get serious? What kind of man does that? How dare you assault a girl! You’re nothing but a bully, and a lousy one at that!”
Beckett found himself trapped beneath Fernanda, his face pressed against the frozen ground, his body trembling from the cold. Completely disoriented, he couldn’t figure out how to break free. A seemingly delicate girl had him pinned, and her weight made it hard for him to breathe.
“Let go of me!” Beckett growled, gritting his teeth, his voice thick with frustration. “Why do you care about what I do with my woman? Stay out of it!”
Fernanda, unfazed, pressed her foot firmly into his back, determined to keep him in place. Her attention was undisturbed by his words. But Beckett, seething, grew more vicious with his insults.
On the other hand, Fernanda seemed almost entertained. It was clear Beckett had spent plenty of time honing his insults; each one was sharp, modern, and calculated. Despite the venom in his words, Fernanda remained unshaken. Her indifference to his taunts left Beckett feeling like he was striking the air—utterly powerless.

After what felt like an endless struggle, Beckett finally fell silent.
“Finished with your little rant?” Fernanda asked, her voice dripping with mockery as she gazed down at Beckett, her smirk growing wider. “Keep it up if you want me to stay entertained.”
Beckett was caught off guard, completely perplexed by her response. Fernanda’s grin remained unchanged, her eyes sparkling with a detached calm. She had long since stopped caring about insults.
