Chapter 544
Chapter 544:
“Oh no. How did it get this bad?” Abel immediately turned to his daughter and ordered, “Braylee, get some medicine. Quick!”
“Okay, I’ll be right back.” Braylee hurried off.
Though Abel hadn’t remembered Jett at first, Jett did. At that conference, Abel had been honored as a representative of distinguished business leaders. Jett had admired him and hoped one day to achieve that same level of success.
Now, seeing this accomplished entrepreneur showing such warmth toward Bonita’s friend, Jett couldn’t hold back his curiosity. “Mr. Hudson, could you tell me more about Miss Morgan?”
“She’s the daughter of a friend,” Abel answered casually. To hear Abel refer to someone as a “friend” meant they were part of his influential social circle.
Jett turned to Fernanda with a warm smile. “Miss Morgan, you should’ve told us your identity when you arrived.”
Fernanda tilted her head, her brows knitting together in confusion. Was she supposed to introduce herself to every person she met from now on?
Before she could say anything, Braylee returned with the medicine. Fernanda helped Bonita onto the bed.
When Bonita finally lifted her face, the full extent of her injuries became visible. Braylee gasped sharply at the sight.
“Should we take her to the hospital? Fernanda, how about I drive you both there?” Abel asked, concern evident on his face.
“No need,” Fernanda said with a warm smile. “I appreciate your kindness, but I’ll take care of my friend. You’ve done more than enough.”
Abel nodded thoughtfully. He had been inspecting the hotel today and had noticed some issues that needed immediate attention. In fact, he had only come over after the manager informed him that Fernanda was here. Abel glanced at Braylee and instructed her, “Stay here and look after Fernanda and her friend. Let me know if you need anything.”
“Okay, Dad,” Braylee replied immediately.

As Abel left, Jett let out a long sigh of relief. No matter how self-assured he was, he knew he had to tread carefully in the presence of someone more accomplished than himself.
Braylee made herself comfortable on the sofa. Her sharp eyes swept across the room before she turned…
Fernanda turned to face Braylee. “What’s going on here?”
Before Fernanda could respond, Jett cut in, “It’s nothing. Just a misunderstanding.”
Braylee frowned and shot Jett an impatient look. “I wasn’t talking to you. Why are you speaking?”
