Chapter 545
Chapter 545:
Embarrassed by being chastised by someone younger, Jett’s face turned beet red. Knowing Braylee was Abel’s daughter, he bit his tongue. If he recalled correctly, Braylee’s husband was Roscoe, the head of Bloom Group, one of the country’s leading media corporations.
The realization only deepened Jett’s obsequious demeanor.
Fernanda calmly answered Braylee while tending to Bonita. “A man attacked my friend yesterday. We reported it to the police, and they summoned his parents. These two are his parents, and these two are my friend’s parents. I didn’t know what happened to her after that, but when I arrived just now, I saw that she was severely battered.”
Braylee’s frown deepened as she looked at Bonita. Such a sweet, delicate girl now covered in bruises. How could they be so cruel?
“The police station is just next door. Why not report this to them?” Braylee suggested. “Even if they are her parents, they can’t just get away with it. There’s no law allowing parents to beat their children. What they did is unacceptable.”
Myron, visibly panicking, stepped forward. “I promise it won’t happen again. Please, believe me.”
Braylee rolled her eyes, unimpressed. “Why are you telling me this? The person you hit isn’t me.”
Flustered, Myron rubbed his hands nervously, walked over to Bonita, and implored, “Bonita, I shouldn’t have hurt you. Please don’t be mad at me anymore. I’m sorry. I was wrong.” As he spoke, he lightly slapped himself twice.
“Yes, yes. It’s all a misunderstanding. Just like the one you and Beckett had,” Jett chimed in. “But now that it’s cleared up, everything’s fine. Beckett, you need to be more mindful in the future and avoid causing trouble. Do you understand?”
Beckett didn’t respond. He sat in icy silence, his dark, brooding eyes fixed on the scene before him.
He had watched with growing resentment as his father and Myron shifted from haughty and accusatory to obsequious and apologetic. Just moments earlier, they had demanded Bonita apologize to him. But now, they dismissed the incident entirely, even going so far as to scold him.

After applying the medicine to Bonita, Fernanda let out a weary sigh. “You should take a few days off. You can’t go to school looking like this.”
Bonita gave a small nod.
“I’ll upgrade you to a VIP suite,” Braylee offered. “No one can bother you there.”
The others in the room exchanged uneasy glances, but none dared to speak. This wasn’t their small hometown, where they could act boldly. This was Esaham, and they knew better than to stir trouble.
“Thank you,” Fernanda said earnestly.
Bonita was too exhausted from the ordeal to even speak. She quietly followed Fernanda’s arrangements, trusting her completely to ensure her safety. She resolved to thank her properly later.
