Chapter 572
Chapter 572:
Where exactly was Cristian taking her? And with a private jet, no less.
She turned to him and asked, “Are you still not going to tell me?”
Cristian smiled and looked back at her. “If I told you, it wouldn’t be a surprise. You’ll find out soon enough.”
Before she could press him further, a man approached them, carrying two glasses of juice. He placed one in front of each of them.
“Amory?” Fernanda asked, startled by the familiar face.
Amory nodded eagerly. “Yes, it’s me, Miss Morgan! You remember me!”
The memory clicked instantly. He was the one Cristian had called late one night to drive her home.
For Amory, it felt like an honor that she even remembered his name. “Now you can go and find yourself a seat.”
Cristian glanced at Amory, who was grinning. “Is your work finished?”
Amory hunched his shoulders, retreated to another couch, and opened his laptop without protest.
Fernanda chuckled at the exchange and turned to Cristian. “Is this how you treat your employees? You don’t even give them a holiday on Christmas Day?”
Before Cristian could answer, Amory interjected, “No, Miss Morgan. I volunteered for overtime! Mr. Reed is paying me five times the usual rate!”
Fernanda raised an eyebrow and gave Cristian an approving nod. “Not bad. Very generous.”
“Mr. Reed treats us well,” Amory continued enthusiastically. “I’ve been with him for a long time, and he’s always been generous to me. My house, my car, even my parents’ jobs in Esaham—he arranged all of that. Really, he has been a huge benefactor to my family…”
At this point, Amory paused and looked at Fernanda earnestly. “Miss Morgan, the first time I saw you, I thought you and Mr. Reed were such a perfect match!”

Fernanda nearly spat out her drink.
“Easy there,” Cristian said with a chuckle while gently patting her back. He turned to Amory and added, “That’s enough. You can go back to your work now.”
But Amory pressed on, “You two really make a great pair. I—”
Fernanda cut him off, still recovering from her coughing fit. She raised a hand to stop his explanation and assured him, “I understand your point. Really, I do.”
Amory nodded, relieved.
For the remainder of the flight, Cristian turned his attention back to his laptop, leaving them to themselves.
Two and a half hours later, the plane landed smoothly.
