Chapter 710
Chapter 710:
In the aftermath, Hertha’s own company had swiftly shifted the blame to her assistant and manager, effectively shielding her from the fallout. Thanks to her robust fan base, striking looks, and a well-maintained public persona, Hertha had weathered that storm with ease.
After a strategic retreat from the public eye, she had reemerged with renewed vigor, securing multiple high-profile endorsements. While Fernanda had moved past the old grievances, Sloane’s resentment towards Hertha remained unabated.
“What happened to her?” Sloane inquired sharply.
Levi glanced around nervously before whispering, “I just saw her—over there in the restroom—with some guy…”
His voice trailed off, but Sloane’s eyes gleamed with intrigue. “What in the world was she doing with a man in the restroom? Come on, tell me everything!” Sloane demanded, leaning in closer.
The restroom stall was bathed in a warm, yellow light, casting a muted glow that made everything feel oddly still. The air hung thick with a mix of disinfectant and air freshener, the scent almost overpowering in its freshness.
Vinson eyed the disheveled woman before him, his gaze casual yet firm. “That’s enough. Button up your clothes,” he said in a low, even tone.
Hertha’s lips trembled as she bit them, her eyes wide and shimmering with a raw, almost painful innocence. She tilted her head upward, her gaze sparkling with a purity that seemed to glow faintly in the dimness, her eyes two flawless jewels.
Her fans adored those eyes, often claiming they were the most captivating part of her—a gaze so radiant, so untouched, that it stood out like a breath of fresh air in the world of entertainment.
They described her as innocent, untouched by the grime of the industry, and unscathed by the harshness around her.
“Mr. Turner…” Hertha’s voice was barely audible, a soft plea that seemed to hang in the air. “You really don’t… want me to stay with you anymore?”
Vinson pulled a cigarette from his pocket, but before he could light it, Hertha snatched it from his fingers. With delicate precision, she placed it between her lips, flicked the lighter, and then handed it back to him, the tip glowing briefly as she offered it to him.

He took the cigarette, letting the ember briefly light up his face. A cynical smile tugged at his lips as he watched her, his expression unreadable.
“So, what’s the reason this time?” he asked, his tone sharp. “What is it that’s bringing you here?”
Hertha shook her head, her large eyes sparkling with mischief as she locked her gaze with his. “I just haven’t seen you in so long… and I miss you, that’s all.”
A harsh laugh escaped Vinson’s throat, sharp and dismissive. “Do you really think you can play me like that?”
“I’m serious!” Hertha protested, her voice soft, almost pleading. She leaned closer, her slender hand slipping beneath his shirt collar, trailing lightly over his chest.
Hertha’s touch was practiced, each motion deliberate, her fingers brushing just the right way to provoke a response.
Her hand inched lower, gliding from Vinson’s chest to his abdomen, before unbuckling his belt with a smooth movement. But to her surprise, Vinson remained unmoved, offering no reaction. He simply stood there, cigarette dangling between his fingers, his eyes dark and unwavering. His composure remained intact, unaffected by her efforts, as he observed her with a detached air.
