Chapter 721
Chapter 721:
Thirty minutes later, they entered an underground parking garage beneath an office building. After stepping out, they entered the elevator, where Cristian pressed the button for the 30th floor. As the elevator doors opened, they revealed a glass door. Cristian swiped a card and led Fernanda inside.
Inside, Fernanda took in the long, quiet hallway stretching ahead, its thick gray carpet muffling their footsteps. The corridor was lined with individual rooms, arranged neatly and densely. Cristian guided Fernanda into one of the rooms.
The space was cozy. The neutral beige tones on the walls complemented the large window that flooded the room with natural light. A simple layout filled the room: a desk, two chairs, a small sofa with a coffee table, and a water dispenser.
“This is a study room,” Cristian explained to Fernanda, his voice gentle. “It’s peaceful here, and the atmosphere is ideal. If you continue down the hall, there’s a door that leads straight to the city library. You’ll find it incredibly convenient for research.”
Cristian moved to adjust the chair’s height, ensuring Fernanda could sit comfortably.
Fernanda marveled, clearly intrigued. “I had no idea there was such a place. The library is always packed during exam week.”
“Now you’re in the know,” Cristian said, settling into another chair, his eyes fixed on her. “Feel free to come by anytime.”
Fernanda gave a small nod. “Well, I could study in the dorm. The problem is, whenever I see a bed, I can’t help but lie down.”
“Really?” Cristian mused, a thoughtful expression on his face. “In that case, when we’re married, I’ll make sure to get you the most comfortable bed possible. You’ll be able to lie down as much as you like.”
Fernanda’s fingers froze on the page she was turning. She turned her gaze to him.
He relaxed into his chair, one arm casually draped across the table, his cheek resting on his hand as his gaze met hers. As she stared at him, his playful look
Cristian’s playful expression shifted into something more serious. “What’s wrong?” Fernanda asked, her voice slightly shaky. “You want to marry me?”

Cristian was taken aback by Fernanda’s question, his surprise evident in his pause.
“I do want to marry you,” he responded without a second thought, his smile returning. “Did you think I was only interested in dating? A relationship that doesn’t aim for marriage is just a passing fling, isn’t it?”
Fernanda could understand that; she wasn’t the naive, uncertain teenager she used to be. Nowadays, marriage was a natural part of the equation when it came to relationships. She also knew that Cristian wasn’t the type to say things lightly. He was a man who meant what he said.
Still, hearing his wish to marry her expressed so seriously stirred her heart in a way she hadn’t expected. The way he spoke about their future together suddenly filled Fernanda with an unexpected yearning for what lay ahead. Years of independence had left her wondering if it was finally time to build a family of her own.
Snapping out of her thoughts, she quickly turned her gaze back to the book in front of her, forcing herself to focus.
But then, a thought hit her—she’d made a mistake from the beginning. Why had she agreed to leave with him? With someone as captivating as Cristian around, how could she possibly concentrate on studying? He didn’t say a word or even try to distract her, yet Fernanda found herself stealing glances at him, unable to help it.
