Chapter 775
Chapter 775:
Bonita suppressed the urge to vomit but remained silent.
Fernanda glanced at Neal, who was seated beside her, and saw that he had his eyes closed and his head hanging down, unmoving.
When she looked a little lower, Fernanda noticed that Neal’s fists were clenched so tight that his veins were popping out.
Gently, she tugged at his clothes, causing him to turn to her.
His eyes were bloodshot and lifeless.
The dinner progressed in a rather unpleasant way.
Nobody spoke except Beckett, who was talking about how he and Bonita had been childhood sweethearts and how they grew up together. However, his words seemed to be directed at Neal.
Some of his remarks were so inappropriate that it caused no one to respond to him.
Beckett’s smile grew even smugger when he saw Neal’s dispirited look.
Finally, the dinner came to an end, and everyone dispersed.
Only Beckett and Bonita remained in the room.
Although Beckett had not been drinking, he seemed intoxicated as he reached for Bonita and said, “Let’s head back, Bonita. We’ll have some intimate moments tonight…”
Bonita immediately smacked his hand away, her face a mask of disgust.
In the past, Beckett had often made lewd jokes and had tried to get her to sleep with him, but never found the opportunity.
However, it seemed that he lost more of his inhibitions as he got older.
“Beckett, this meal was our farewell dinner. Don’t contact me again. I’m now with Neal,” Bonita said, not meeting Beckett’s eyes.
Beckett’s smile froze, and he demanded, “Say that again?”

Voice trembling, Bonita continued, “After thinking it over, I’ve decided I still like Neal despite what his family is like. So please don’t bother me anymore. I’ve had enough of you.”
Beckett looked at Bonita the way a wolf might look at its prey.
His jaws clenched, and Bonita could hear his teeth grinding.
Beckett had been happy up until now.
Why did Bonita have to kill his happiness by saying this?
“Don’t be silly. Come with me,” Beckett said, pulling Bonita toward him.
“I won’t go with you! I’ve had enough of you. I just can’t take it anymore. Do you know how disgusting you are? I feel like throwing up each time I see you!” Bonita said, glaring at Beckett as she took a step back.
She had never dared to say these things to Beckett before because she was afraid of provoking him.
However, now she wanted to make him lose his cool.
This was why Bonita used cruel words to anger him.
