“Hey, that’s enough.” Rosita smacked the table with a file, cutting them off. “Lynda, quit showering my boss with compliments. If this keeps up, what are we supposed to do if she decides to ditch us for a career in the entertainment industry? Let’s remember our purpose here.”
“Fine, fine, let’s get to the point.” Lynda exhaled, turning to Fernanda with a lazy gaze. “You’re planning to sue for defamation, correct? At most, that could lead to three years’ imprisonment for Beckett.”
“The duration of his jail time doesn’t concern me. What’s crucial is sending a legal notice,” Fernanda said firmly. “It’s about taking a stand, not the length of his sentence.”
“Understood, I just wanted to clarify that upfront.” Lynda nodded. “I’ll have the legal notice dispatched tomorrow. Should we make it public?”
“Absolutely, let it be known worldwide.” Fernanda confirmed. She wanted those who thrived on gossip to pay attention, and those who envied Neal to witness it for themselves.
It would stand as a caution.
“Who is this Beckett?” Lynda asked with a casual air.
“He hails from Zenithium,” Fernanda explained. “He comes from a respected family, quite influential locally.”
“Zenithium, huh?” Lynda said. “It’s doing alright economically, yet it’s lacking in educational resources, and the social environment isn’t great. To tackle someone like him, targeting his family might be necessary.”
Rosita glanced at Lynda, clicking her tongue. “Mind what you say, Lynda. Don’t lead young Ms. Morgan astray.”
Lynda chuckled. “I’m merely stating facts. His parents protect him. If you want to reach him, you’ll need to dismantle that protection. Given their status, they’re likely involved in objectionable actions. It’d be just to clean that up.”
Shifting her position, Lynda added, “Just so you know, you don’t have to follow my advice.”
She laughed as though the notion of dismantling a family was merely a joke.
