Chapter 819
Chapter 819:
Rafael was taken aback. “Uh… I apologize for my foolish question.” Realizing her harsh demeanor, Fernanda knew she was out of line. She wasn’t the type to be unreasonable. Even if she was in a bad mood, it wasn’t right to take it out on innocent people.
“Sorry,” Fernanda muttered, dismissing him with a wave. “Today’s just not my day.”
Rafael observed her closely. “You seem really worn out.”
He couldn’t stop reflecting on their past encounters. Fernanda had always appeared controlled and unflappable, no matter the circumstances. Yet today, her distress was evident.
The vividness of his memories of Fernanda surprised Rafael. He felt almost overwhelmed by how clearly he remembered every detail about her.
“It’s nothing important,” Fernanda said, massaging her temples. Her irritation was clear, and she wasn’t in the mood for conversation.
Moreover, she and Rafael had rarely interacted meaningfully before. His sudden approach now made her wary of his motives. She was too preoccupied to engage with him.
“Is there something you want?” Fernanda inquired with a cold demeanor.
Rafael hesitated briefly before responding, “No, I just wanted to greet you when I saw you here.”
A sharp laugh escaped Fernanda, catching Rafael off guard.
Could he possibly confess that his sister had suggested he court her? That was out of the question.
Standing near her, Rafael found Fernanda’s presence formidable. Her commanding air was undeniable.
He had always believed his sister to be the most imposing person he knew, yet here he was, realizing that Fernanda was every bit her equal—and significantly younger than his sister!
Rafael couldn’t help but feel that Fernanda was not just a younger peer but someone as commanding as his sister, instilling a natural sense of awe and fear in him.
After an awkward pause, Rafael cleared his throat. “I admit I was foolish before. I have no excuses—I messed up. Also, Ava is no longer in the picture. I know I caused you trouble because of her before, and I deeply regret that. I promise not to repeat my mistakes. I hope you can forgive me.”

It was rare for Rafael to apologize so sincerely, his voice softening as his cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
His voice grew softer, and his cheeks turned pink. After a while, when Fernanda still hadn’t responded, he looked up and saw her lost in thought. He murmured, “Fernanda…”
Fernanda snapped out of her reverie. “Hmm? Oh, is it time?” Glancing at the clock, she noted she could soon board her flight.
“Well, I should be going,” she said, rising from her seat.
Rafael sat there, dumbfounded. His heartfelt words seemed to have vanished into thin air…
He exhaled deeply, realizing for the first time that his words had fallen on deaf ears.
