Chapter 827:

Though the householders were skilled in combat, they were ultimately overpowered by Leon’s more formidable team, soon suppressed and pinned to the floor.

With a cigarette casually perched between his lips, Leon looked over at Fernanda with a relaxed demeanor. Taking a puff, he asked, “So, what exactly did these guys do to get on your bad side?”

“They’re the reason Cristian ended up in the hospital,” Fernanda answered, her tone cold.

Leon swore under his breath, “These bastards? They had the guts to attack Mr. Reed?”

Kicking one of the quiet men in the ribs, Leon scolded, “You idiots really thought you could take on Mr. Reed? Looking for trouble, huh?”

While Leon was unaware of the specifics behind the assault or why Cristian was wounded in Zenithium, he recognized the gravity of the situation.

At Fernanda’s command, his team began a thorough search of the premises. It didn’t take long for them to discover several crates filled with firearms and ammunition in a ground-floor storeroom, matching the bullets used against Cristian.

Fernanda picked up one of the bullets, the cool metal serving as a stark reminder of the stakes.

“Where are Kole and Liam?” she demanded.

Silence fell over the room.

“You.” Fernanda fixed her gaze on the nearest man. “Talk.”

The man gave her a defiant look but remained silent.

Fernanda’s smile was chilling. “Leon, perhaps he doesn’t need his tongue.”

Leon paused for a moment, then a wicked smile appeared on his face. A spark of excitement flickered in his eyes as he eagerly rubbed his palms together.

“Bring him here,” he instructed two of his men. “Hold his jaw open.”

They pried the man’s mouth open forcefully; he struggled violently, but to no avail. Saliva began to drip from the corner of his mouth to the floor.

Leon picked up a large knife, menacingly capable of much more than just cutting out a tongue.

“If you’re not going to use your tongue to speak, then I’ll remove it,” Leon muttered as he brought the knife closer to the man’s mouth.

The man’s entire body shook, held firmly in place by the iron grip of the men beside him. His terrified reflection stared back at him from the gleaming blade.

He had been a hardened criminal, used to the grim realities of his lifestyle—murder, arson, and robbery were all part of a typical day for him, and he bore many scars from his violent past. He had inflicted brutal injuries on others before, even severing limbs. Now, faced with his own gruesome fate, the horror of it struck him deeply.

The prospect of losing his tongue and living as a mute filled him with unspeakable dread.

In his terror, he lost control of his bladder.

The room filled with an awful stench. Leon grimaced and spat out, “Really? Just for a tongue, not even something vital!”
