Chapter 857
Chapter 857:
Fernanda steadied her.
Just as they exited the gym, Vinson said, “Looks like you worked out your legs too, Fernanda.”
Turning to see Vinson’s observant eyes, Fernanda found herself the subject of scrutiny.
Sloane, somewhat bewildered, teased, “Fernanda, weren’t you on a date with Cristian? Did you guys hit the gym together?” She laughed. “You two really go all out, even making your dates intense.”
The mention of her own rigorous “leg day” caused Fernanda to blush deeply.
Having spent two days in vigorous activity, her legs were indeed sore. The soreness was particularly sharp when she stood, especially in her inner thighs. She hadn’t noticed how awkward her steps had become.
Vinson, observing her struggle, commented, “I always thought you were in great shape. Seems I might have been mistaken.”
“Ah… it’s been a while since my last workout,” Fernanda replied, her voice faltering slightly. “I’m a bit out of shape.”
“We all let things slide now and then,” Sloane commented, giving Fernanda a playful elbow nudge. “But why is your face so flushed?”
Vinson observed Fernanda with a curious look.
As Sloane spoke, Fernanda’s cheeks deepened in color. She tried to keep her composure, but she felt increasingly overwhelmed.
Unaware of the full context, Sloane continued talking. “It’s great that you’re getting back into exercise, even on a date. How does Cristian feel about mixing workouts with dating? He wasn’t acting as your personal trainer, was he?”
Fernanda responded vaguely, “Not exactly.”
“What activities did you two get up to? Did you manage the leg press? That machine is brutal. It nearly had me in tears today. What weight were you pushing? I couldn’t even manage an extra twenty kilograms…”
Fernanda couldn’t find the words. Her mind was too caught up in memories of Cristian.

Sloane’s questions faded into the background, barely even registering.
Vinson then interjected, “Try adding twenty more next time.”
Sloane turned pale. “Seriously?”
Vinson merely looked at her and let out a laugh.
Defeated by his suggestion, Sloane fell silent. She felt utterly exasperated by Vinson’s relentless attitude.
Meanwhile, Fernanda caught Vinson’s gaze as he turned towards her.
His dark eyes were inscrutable, deep, and secretive.
Fernanda sensed that he might have picked up on what was really going on.
She briefly felt self-conscious, realizing that Vinson was, after all, a man.
She reassured herself that this was just everyday stuff for couples!
Then, her composure returned swiftly.
