Chapter 858
Chapter 858:
Regaining her poise, Fernanda lifted her chin confidently and fixed Vinson with a determined stare. “Next time, we’ll find out whose legs are stronger.”
Vinson caught sight of Fernanda’s provocative demeanor and couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Alright,” he said. “Back then, Cristian was no match for me in terms of strength. Let’s see how you compare.”
“That’s not possible,” Fernanda replied instantly. “Cristian could never be weaker than you.”
In Fernanda’s mind, the idea of Cristian being weaker than anyone else was unimaginable. There was nothing he couldn’t do. No one could surpass him.
Vinson grinned and shook his head. “Just get in the car.”
After sitting down, Fernanda noticed Vinson’s broad back in the driver’s seat. He had the build of a tank—unlike Cristian, who was thin yet strong. Vinson’s build was unmistakably robust, his back muscles broad and striking.
Oh no… Fernanda suddenly felt a sinking sensation, realizing that Cristian might indeed be outmatched in raw strength.
As Vinson steered the wheel, his shoulder and back muscles stretched the fabric of his casual shirt. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, displaying his muscular forearms.
Sloane watched the difference between Vinson’s sturdy arms and Fernanda’s slender ones, which seemed fragile by comparison. She chose to remain silent. She had heard Fernanda boldly challenge Vinson and could already predict how it would end.
In the following weeks, Fernanda was fully immersed in the programming competition.
Her team comprised schoolmates and even some graduate students, all committed to the contest.
Being a perfectionist, Fernanda threw herself into the project, nearly forgetting to sleep. One afternoon, while nibbling on a stale piece of bread and debugging code, Neal arrived.
Neal and his team had been busy too. Following their recent win in the college league, they had attracted more sponsors to support their entry into the national league.

Eager for greater achievements in bigger leagues, they were resolved not to pass up this chance. As a result, they were diligently preparing for the upcoming competition.
This would be the most significant opportunity they had ever encountered.
Neal dropped into the chair beside Fernanda and glanced at the crumbling bread she was munching on. “You should eat something better,” he said.
Fernanda kept her eyes on the screen. “I’ll eat later.”
“Don’t wait. Let me handle this,” Neal said, pushing her aside and rotating the monitor towards himself. “Go get some food. I have something to tell you when you return.”
He began to type rapidly, his fingers sweeping across the keyboard.
Since Neal had already taken charge, Fernanda didn’t argue. Moreover, the task was straightforward, and he was more than capable.
“I’m too lazy to go out. Just tell me now,” Fernanda said, taking another bite of her bread and chasing it with water from her bottle.
“Remember you asked Ritchie to join our team?” Neal asked. “He called today. He’s not joining us.”
