It felt like these people pitied him.

He didn’t need anyone’s pity.

“I don’t want them,” Ritchie repeated.

Andrew tried to shove the bags into Ritchie’s hand. “Are you still mad at us? We know we ruined a lot of your paints and clothes before. Let us replace all that. Please accept these.”

Andrew, who had been so arrogant that afternoon, now seemed humble.

Looking at him, one would never guess what he had just done earlier.

Ritchie found it oddly satisfying to see Andrew behave like this.

Relenting, he reached into the bags and took a few cans of paint, saying, “These are enough.”

They had ruined quite a few of his paints, but he didn’t want to take more than he needed.

Andrew explained, “I threw away the receipt when we bought these, so we can’t return them, and since we’re not art students, we can’t use them. We’ll have to throw them away if you don’t take them.”

Ritchie stared thoughtfully at the bags.

“Alright,” he said, relenting.

Andrew smiled happily and handed all the bags to Ritchie.

“You’re accepting this means you’ve forgiven us. We’ll treat you to a meal next time to apologize properly.” Andrew then took out his phone and asked, “Do you want to exchange numbers, Ritchie?”

Ritchie didn’t refuse.

After this, he went upstairs to his room.

Back in his room, he opened the bags and took a careful look at the paints.

He counted the number of items and checked the market value. Once he had done the math, he sent the amount back to Andrew.

It was quite a sum, but he could afford it as his grant had come through.

Andrew stared at the transfer notification, his face reflecting confusion.

A lackey noticed his apparent confusion and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Andrew looked at the transfer, and the smile he had been wearing gradually disappeared. In that moment, a deep respect for Ritchie grew within him.

Ritchie was an honorable man.

Why the hell had he picked on him and caused him so many problems all this time?

Andrew slapped himself on the face as punishment for his thoughtless actions.

This frightened his lackeys, who asked what was wrong.

“Nothing. It’s just Ritchie…” Andrew trailed off.

“What about him?”

“From now on, he is under our protection. No one is allowed to bully him anymore,” Andrew announced.
