Chapter 911
Chapter 911:
Wendy froze.
“Do you have no self-esteem?” Diana berated, her face flushed. “Have you forgotten how his family treated you? Where is your dignity?”
Her anger seemed to boil over as she struck Wendy’s shoulder repeatedly. Wendy stood motionless, absorbing the hits, her eyes brimming with disappointment.
Seeing this, Bobby hurried over and positioned himself between them.
“And you!” Diana turned her fury towards Bobby. “Why can’t you leave her alone? Your family ruined her! She’s finally doing fine, and you’re still pestering her! Are you trying to drive her to her death?”
“Stop it,” Wendy interjected, her voice quiet but resolute.
“Why can’t you just leave my daughter in peace? It was because of you that she was expelled from school and couldn’t even take her university exams! You nearly destroyed her life, and yet you still hassle her!” Diana screamed and lunged at Bobby.

“Don’t need your lectures, and you have no right to criticize him.” Wendy continued in a bitter voice, “His family never hurt me; in fact, I was the one who hurt him.”
“Wendy.” Bobby interjected, his voice tense. “Enough.”
But Wendy pressed on, “I was the one who hurt him. I should be the one to blame. If you want to act like a mother, you should be apologizing on my behalf, not blaming him.”
“What?” Diana scoffed in disbelief. “You’re insane.”
Wendy blinked away the moisture forming in her eyes as the cold wind cleared the mist before her, sharpening her vision. “You can leave now, and don’t come looking for me again.”
“Fine,” Diana snapped, pointing a finger at her. “You’ll regret this! Just wait and see!”
Wendy looked ahead, remaining silent. Diana shot a fierce glare at Bobby, then turned, flagged down a taxi, and departed.
