Chapter 920
Chapter 920:
Bobby was upset that Evie was more concerned about Fernanda than about him — her real brother.
Fernanda recalled Evie’s casual invitation to an art exhibition, which she had accepted. However, the plan never materialized, and now, Evie was gone. Just like that, a casual invitation had slipped through the cracks of time.
Martin tapped his finger on the table, cleared his throat, and looked at both Cristian and Fernanda. “Judie and I have discussed this, and we fully support you two being together.”
Martin had shown his approval of Fernanda and Cristian’s relationship, but Fernanda was taken aback when Judie also agreed. Initially, Fernanda thought Judie would staunchly oppose her, perhaps even threatening to kick her out after learning about her relationship with Cristian. Fernanda’s eyes rested on Judie, who calmly finished the last of her supplement. Then, she resumed eating quietly, signaling she had no more to add.
Fernanda felt an urge to speak up, but a sudden sneeze diverted her attention. Judie paused, then directed Tammy to swap Fernanda’s juice for a cup of warm milk.
“Just because we’re on the same page doesn’t mean everyone else will be,” Martin pointed out, glancing at Cristian. “Your grandfather still doesn’t know.”
“He doesn’t need to know that,” Cristian responded, reclining and casually playing with Fernanda’s fingers.
“It doesn’t bother you because he stays out of your business,” Judie interjected. “Yet, it’s different for Fernanda. Did you think he was joking about arranging a marriage for her?”
A social media post about Curran’s matchmaking attempts flashed through Fernanda’s mind.
“Didn’t he suggest you visit Litdence over the winter break?” Judie turned the conversation to Fernanda.
Without much thought, Fernanda nodded, listening as Judie continued.

“The suitors are nearly decided, many from Esaham. He even called recently to discuss their families,” Judie explained. “Once you’re in Litdence, the arranged meetings will start.”
She smiled at Cristian. “Some of these candidates are impressive. They look like they could be celebrities.”
“It doesn’t matter,” Cristian dismissed, rolling his eyes. “Fernanda is not going to fall for any of them.”
“How do you know?” Judie arched an eyebrow. “Evie found them quite attractive.”
“Fernanda isn’t like her,” Cristian said confidently.
The conversation stalled, no one daring to challenge his straightforward statement.
Judie’s tactics failed; she was trying to instill urgency in her nephew, but he wasn’t swayed. Fernanda stayed quiet, concentrating on her dinner as if critiquing it for a gourmet magazine. Judie instructed Tammy to get a guest room ready for Fernanda.
