Chapter 925
Chapter 925:
“This is mine,” Cristian answered simply.
“Didn’t Judie have someone prepare a guest room for me?”
Cristian’s lips curved into a small smile. “You’re not a guest here, so why would you be in a guest room?” He lightly pressed her down onto the sofa. Fernanda, amused, teased him, “Then what am I?”
Cristian picked up a glass, taking a sip as he sneezed lightly. The movement of his Adam’s apple was pronounced and deliberate. Setting the glass back on the beige coffee table, he replied, “You’re family.”
Fernanda grabbed a pillow, nestling into the softness of the sofa. “If your aunt catches me not staying in the guest room, she’ll probably give me one of those disapproving looks, don’t you think?”
“Why do you assume she thinks you belong in a guest room?” Cristian asked, fixing his gaze on her.
Fernanda’s thoughts drifted back to Judie’s earlier comment. Judie was bound to notice. Cristian’s affection for her was hardly subtle—it had been evident even when Judie was around.
Shaking off her thoughts about the guest room, Fernanda rose and moved toward the balcony’s glass door. She slid it open slightly, letting in a gust of cold air.
The wind, previously trapped outside, surged in with newfound strength, scattering snowflakes that landed on her skin with a sharp chill. Despite the cold nipping at her, warmth radiated through her chest—a feeling she couldn’t ignore.
Cristian came up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist in a protective embrace. He murmured softly into her ear, “When will you let me meet your family?”
Fernanda chuckled under her breath. “Haven’t you already met them?”
“Not in the way I want to now,” he replied, his voice steady but tender.

Fernanda shrugged, a teasing edge in her tone as she said, “Forget it. Robert might get so excited he’d drop dead on the spot.”
The broken engagement with Bobby had strained Fernanda’s relationship with Robert over the past year. He had grown so distant and detached, barely acknowledging her existence as though she were a stranger. If Robert discovered that she’d gone from being engaged to Bobby to being with Cristian, the shock would leave him reeling.
He would have gone overboard with his excitement, undoubtedly planning an elaborate celebration in his usual over-the-top fashion.
“But I want to meet your family,” Cristian murmured, his lips brushing against her earlobe. The gentle nip made Fernanda instinctively pull back. He smirked, clearly satisfied with her reaction. “I want to make my presence known.”
Cristian wanted to confront Robert and deliver a blow so impactful that the man would regret every instance of neglect he had shown toward her. He wanted the world to see their connection, to make it clear that Fernanda was his.
He could see that he had been Fernanda’s partner, ensuring no one dared to belittle her again.
