Chapter 926:

His voice, low and soothing, was like a feather trailing across her ear, sending a shiver through her. The sensation stirred goosebumps on her skin, and Cristian’s sharp gaze caught the color rising to her cheeks. Her blush deepened, spreading across her face, traveling to the tips of her ears, and creeping down her neck, even noticeable through her casual sweater.

The room suddenly felt warmer to her.

Cristian was carefully negotiating his way into her family’s life, but before Fernanda could fully process it, he had already guided her into the bedroom. Gently yet firmly, he pressed her down onto the bed. Leaning close, his voice softened further. “Take me to meet your family.”

“Next month,” she said weakly.

“Next week,” he countered, unwavering.

“Tomorrow?” she blurted, feeling her head spin.

By the time she realized what she had said, it was too late.

Cristian had no doubt that she would eventually agree.

And now, with everything between them, there was no way she could turn him down anymore.

Cristian and Fernanda found themselves in disagreement about becoming intimate. Fernanda hesitated, reminding him that they were in the Harper family’s residence.

Cristian persisted, saying, “They won’t mind. Let’s make your first visit unforgettable.”

Fernanda didn’t fully grasp the significance of his words, but eventually, her resistance faded, yielding to her desire.

They stayed awake well into the night, and by the time Cristian embraced her as they drifted to sleep, Fernanda was too tired to speak. She ended up sleeping in until almost 10 a.m.

Strangely, the first thought that crossed her mind upon waking was Judie’s words: “I’ll call you for breakfast on time tomorrow.”

By then, breakfast time had clearly passed.

Fernanda wondered if Judie had come to call her for breakfast after all.

The noise from the shower ceased, and Cristian emerged, looking refreshed. “Good morning, darling,” he said cheerfully.

Fernanda ignored him, quickly put on her shoes, and made her way to the bathroom.

By the time they were ready, it was nearly 10:30.

The snowstorm from the day before had subsided, but soft flakes still drifted down from the sky.

Judie was absent from the living room, to Fernanda’s relief. She dreaded the embarrassment of being noticed for waking up so late.
