Chapter 927
Chapter 927:
However, her relief was short-lived. When she entered the dining room, she found Judie calmly eating a sandwich, which caused Fernanda to halt in her tracks.
Cristian chuckled lightly, gently placing an arm around her shoulder.
From behind her newspaper, Judie looked up. Despite their tardiness, her expression remained neutral. “Good morning. How about some breakfast?” she asked nonchalantly. She lifted the lid from a dish, revealing a decadent spread of breakfast items.
Directly opposite her, a pot simmered.
“This is clam chowder,” Judie explained, glancing at Cristian. “Tammy got it ready just for you.”
Cristian regarded the soup thoughtfully. “Don’t you think this is a bit much for breakfast?”
Judie, skewering a slice of pear, disagreed. “Not at all. You had a busy night. A bit of extra nutrition is just what you need.”
Fernanda’s cheeks flushed, and she felt a wave of embarrassment wash over her.
Cristian shot her a sly glance, his eyes twinkling mischievously.
The chowder was savory and rich, perfectly balanced in flavor and devoid of any off-putting odors.
Silently, Cristian took a spoon and began to eat, savoring the meal before him.
Judie set aside her newspaper and reclined in her chair.
“Are you still planning to visit the Morgan family today?” she asked Cristian.
He replied, “Yes.”

“Good,” Judie responded. “It’s inevitable, after all. Better to get it over with sooner rather than later.”
Fernanda realized that Cristian had been planning this visit for some time, likely discussing it with Judie beforehand. How else would she have known about his plans so quickly?
“Will it be this afternoon?” Judie asked.
“That’s right,” Cristian replied.
With a nod, Judie exited the house.
After breakfast, Cristian handed Fernanda Bobby’s laptop. She accessed WhatsApp to check in with her team.
Their program was polished, having undergone countless meticulous tests and emerged error-free. It was ready for submission.
The competition was scheduled for Monday, just two days away. Their advisor had encouraged them to unwind and set their worries aside.
