Chapter 973
Chapter 973:
Fernanda laughed. “Why would I hate you?”
Kevin hesitated. “Because of my parents,” he muttered, staring at the floor. “I thought… you never really liked me.”
Fernanda crossed her legs and smiled at him. “That’s not true. I’ve always liked you. We’ve known each other for years.”
Kevin’s voice dropped to a mumble. “It hasn’t been that long…”
Fernanda had planned to be honest with him today. It was time. Kevin was at a fragile point in his life. Right now, more than anything, he needed support.
Admiring Fernanda was one thing, but admiration alone wasn’t enough. Their connection was still too weak.
It needed something real, something solid, to make it stronger.
Without a word, Fernanda pulled out her phone, tapped the screen a few times, and handed it to him.
Kevin took her phone, confused. But the second he saw what was on the screen, his eyes widened in shock.
His grip loosened, and the phone slipped from his hands, hitting the floor with a loud clatter.
Panicked, he scrambled to pick it up. He rubbed his eyes and stared at the screen again, just to make sure he wasn’t seeing things.
This couldn’t be real.
It was Nimbus’s account.
How did Fernanda have access to it?

Kevin looked at her in stunned silence. For a long moment, he couldn’t even find the words. But then, as if forcing them out, he finally asked, “Are you saying that… you’re…”
“That’s right,” Fernanda interrupted with a nod. Her voice was steady, leaving no room for doubt. “I’m Nimbus. I’m the one you’ve been talking to in the game.”
Kevin’s jaw dropped.
A flood of thoughts rushed through his mind, colliding all at once. For a moment, he couldn’t process any of it.
Kevin didn’t know whether to feel embarrassed, shocked, or strangely happy. His face cycled through emotions, none of which settled for long.
He glanced at the phone, then back at Fernanda. After a long pause, he finally asked, “So all this time, you were the one playing and talking to me?”
“That’s right,” she said without hesitation.
Kevin felt like the ground had been pulled out from under him.
With Nimbus, he had always been playful, showering her with praise, acting childish, and being downright silly like an overenthusiastic fanboy. But with Fernanda? He had been the complete opposite. Cool, distant, always composed. He had barely spoken to her, keeping his emotions in check as if nothing could rattle him.
