Chapter 976
Chapter 976:
At first glance, Fernanda was taken aback by the sheer grandeur of the Reed family’s estate in Litdence.
Despite it being winter, the trees remained lush and full, their leaves untouched by the cold.
Towering plane trees lined both sides of the road, their branches stretching endlessly toward the sky.
The car moved slowly down the long, tree-lined avenue. When it passed through the grand entrance, a sea of vibrant flowers came into view. Finally, the vehicle rolled to a stop in front of a grand building.
The driver stepped out and opened the door for Fernanda.
She climbed the steps, stepped inside, and immediately spotted Curran sitting on the sofa, reading a newspaper.
Dressed in a tailored suit and gold-rimmed reading glasses, he had an air of effortless sophistication. His white hair was neatly combed, and despite his age, he looked sharp and full of energy.
Several others were in the room, most of whom she recognized from his birthday banquet. The most familiar face among them was Haley.
Curran glanced up over his glasses, and the moment he saw her, a warm smile spread across his face. “Fernanda is here,” he announced.
“Come on, have a seat.”
She walked over without hesitation.
Seated next to Haley was Pamela, Curran’s other daughter-in-law. Beside her sat a middle-aged man with a stocky build and sharp, calculating eyes. His expression was stern, giving off an air of authority. This was Terence, Pamela’s husband.
Fernanda had never met Terence in person. He had been abroad on business during Curran’s birthday celebration, but she had seen his face in the news enough times to recognize him instantly.

Pamela smiled politely. “Hello, Miss Morgan. Curran has been waiting for you. I’d say he’s quite pleased now.”
Curran let out a chuckle and nodded.
Haley spoke up, her tone calm but firm. “Fernanda’s studies come first. And with everything that’s happened lately, I’m sure it hasn’t been easy for her.”
A brief silence fell over the room. The atmosphere, which had been warm moments ago, grew noticeably heavier.
Curran’s expression darkened instantly. With a cold scoff, he muttered, “If Fernanda had agreed to my matchmaking earlier and found herself a decent boyfriend, would her parents have dared to act this way? People like that don’t deserve to be called parents.”
The chaos surrounding the Morgan family had made headlines everywhere, spreading across media outlets like wildfire. Naturally, the news had reached Litdence as well. After hearing about it, Curran had personally called Fernanda to check on her and offer his support.
