Chapter 759
"Dinner's ready. Let's eat."
Seeing that Kristin had finished her homework, Hamilton chimed in at the perfect moment.
Natalie had no desire to argue with him in front of Kristin, so she pushed him out of the room.
"We don't want you here. Please leave immediately."
Hamilton stared at her for a long moment before holding up his hand, showing off a fresh cut.
"I accidentally sliced my finger while chopping vegetables earlier. It bled a lot."
Natalie scoffed inwardly. So he was trying to play the pity card to get her forgiveness?
Seeing that Natalie remained completely unfazed, Hamilton let out a dejected sigh. "It's still bleeding. The least you could do is give me a bandage."
"If I give you a bandage, will you leave?"
"Yes, I'll leave."
Hearing his promise, Natalie immediately went to the first aid kit in the living room, grabbed a bandage, and handed it to him. But Hamilton didn't take it. Instead, he simply extended his injured finger toward her.
"I can't put it on with one hand."
Natalie swallowed her irritation and wrapped the bandage around his cut. "Is that enough?"
Hamilton inspected his finger and nodded in satisfaction. Then, without missing a beat, he turned and scooped up Kristin, who had just walked out of the bedroom. "Alright, sweetheart, time to eat!"
"Hamilton!" Natalie was furious enough to hit him. He had lied right to her face.
Hamilton turned back and offered her a charming smile. "You forgot. I always used to be a bit of a scoundrel."
Natalie stormed over and grabbed his arm, giving him the perfect excuse to lean in and whisper, "You don't want our daughter to see us fighting, do you? What if it scares her?"
Natalie's grip on his arm tightened. "You bastard."
Hamilton chuckled. "Just relax and accept the fact that I'm going to take care of you both."
"I don't want you to hold me! I want my mom!"
Kristin had been too stunned to react when Hamilton first picked her up, but the moment the shock wore off, she began thrashing wildly.
Hamilton wasn't angry in the slightest. Instead, he affectionately tapped Kristin on the nose.
"Alright, let Mom hold you."
He handed Kristin over to Natalie, then headed into the kitchen to start bringing the dishes out to the dining table.
Natalie took a deep, steadying breath. She had absolutely no idea how to handle this unhinged version of Hamilton. Her only hope was that Marico would prove reliable and det here quickly.

"Mom, I secretly called Marico on my smartwatch," Kristin whispered to Natalie. "What did he say?"
"He didn't pick up." Kristin looked incredibly disappointed. "He must be super busy and didn't hear his phone ring. If he heard it, he definitely would have answered."
Natalie's heart sank. If Kristin couldn't reach Marico, then Martha definitely hadn't gotten through either.
"I made fish stew. You guys should
try it. I followed a video on my phone, so it shouldn't be too terrible," Hamilton said casually as he set the plate of fish on the table.
Left with no other option, Natalie carried her daughter into the dining room, settled her into a chair, and sat down beside her. The moment they sat, Hamilton placed plates and silverware in front of them, then thoughtfully placed a piece of fish into each of their bowls.
"Go ahead, try it," he urged, looking at them with bright anticipation.
Natalie didn't touch her fork. "Hamilton, do you really have to do this?"
"I told you, all you need to do is sit back and accept my care."
"I don't accept it!"
"You have to."
"Hamilton!"
"I said, don't scare Kristin."
Natalie let out a heavy, frustrated breath. She was truly at her wits' end with this
man.
"It tastes bad. It's bitter."
Kristin broke the silence. She had chewed on a piece of the fish, only to spit it right onto the table with a deep frown.
"Bitter?" Hamilton picked up a piece with his own fork and tasted it. "The flavor is a bit mild, but it's not bitter."
