Chapter 1663
Seeing Debra's worried look, Marion said, "You should just focus on healing and leave the rest to us. We might not match the Illuminati, but they won't mess with us randomly here in Seamar City."
The Four Great Families had ruled Seamar City for a century. Although the former heads had faded, the new generation was sharper and stronger. They could hold off the Illuminati's push.
Debra's phone rang. It was Oscar calling.
"You free? I've got something to tell you," he said.
Debra put it on the speaker. No one could guess the aim of his call.
In Flesta, the Odom family's business was booming again. He should have been busy with work.
"What's up?" she asked.
"There's big trouble in Flesta," he replied. "We didn't want to bug you, but it's spiraling out of control. We're out of moves."
"What happened?" She had a bad feeling.
Oscar paused. "A new drug has popped up in Flesta. Tons of our staff got hooked, just like regular folks. The police are on it now. We checked our products and found someone had spiked our factory with that drug."
"Did you recall everything?"
"Yeah, we pulled all the edibles and shut down the factory. But it's just us that hit with this. Someone must have slipped it in, trying to frame us. The police are already on it. If they pin it on us, we're screwed."
Debra heard the panic in his voice, knowing it must be the Illuminati's doing.
They weren't just after the four families. They wanted Flesta too.
If the Odom family went down, their partnership would tank. A food safety scandal would drag all their food chains down with it.
Debra felt a chill, wondering who had come up with such an evil plan. It could blow up and bite back at the Illuminati.
"Don't freak out. We'll figure something out," she said.
"Time's running out," he sighed. "They're coming for us."
His words were interrupted by the sound of people bursting in. ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ꜰʀᴏᴍ find✦novel.net
"Oscar Harper, your company is tied to poisoning. It's a major crime. Shut it down and come with us now," someone barked.
