“As for who it was… even if I told you now, you wouldn’t believe me.”

After all, the real culprit was his trusted fiancée, Tamara.

Milford didn’t catch the implication in her words and clenched his fists. “If you can really make Yvonne better, I will investigate it personally and clear your name!”

Since her goal was achieved, Leilani had no desire to continue talking to Milford, who was so staunchly loyal to Tamara. She didn’t care about the promise in his words.

Leilani turned and left, her back casting a long shadow under the streetlights.

Milford stood in place, unmoving for a long time.

Dante’s treatment was scheduled in three-day cycles. The day after Tilda’s recovery banquet was Dante’s second treatment.

When Leilani pushed open the ward door, Dante was leaning against the headboard reading a newspaper. Seeing her enter, he immediately beamed. “You’re finally here, kid!”

Leilani nodded, walked to the bedside, and took out her acupuncture kit. “How are you feeling today?”

“Much better!” Dante put down the newspaper with a smile and patted his chest. “Since you used the needles last time, my chest doesn’t feel tight anymore, and my appetite is great!”

Leilani smiled slightly, twirling an acupuncture needle in her fingers and expertly inserting it into an

acupoint.

While cooperating with the treatment, Dante secretly observed her, getting more satisfied the more he looked. Even though Leilani had rejected him once before, he still hadn’t given up on setting her up with his grandson.

“My dear, how old are you this year?”

“Twenty-two.”

“Seeing anyone?”

Realizing Dante hadn’t given up on match-making her with his grandson, Leilani inserted another needle expressionlessly, applying slightly more force.

“Ouch!” Dante yelped, looking at her with puppy-dog eyes. “Gently, gently! My old bones can’t take that kind of abuse!”

Leilani glanced at him. “Then stop asking questions you shouldn’t ask.”

Dante huffed twice but continued to nag, unwilling to give up. “My grandson is really nice! He’s handsome and capable. He has a bit of a bad temper, but his character is absolutely reliable! Do you want to consider it?”

Leilani couldn’t be bothered to respond and focused on the needles.

Seeing she wouldn’t take the bait, Dante sighed. “Sigh, young people these days don’t know a good thing when they see it…”

Half an hour later, Leilani removed the needles. Dante rolled his shoulders, looking refreshed.

“When are you coming next?”

“In three days.” Leilani packed her kit and stood up to leave.

Seeing she was about to go, Dante got anxious. He still had other plans for today that hadn’t been implemented yet. What was wrong with Callahan?! Why was there no sign of him yet? At this rate, when would he ever find a granddaughter-in-law?

Dante quickly tried to keep her there. “Wait! I had lunch prepared. Eat before you go.”

“No need. I have things to do.”

“What’s so urgent?”

“I have an appointment.”

Dante’s eyes rolled, and he suddenly lowered his voice. “You aren’t going on a date, are you?”

Too lazy to explain, Leilani turned and walked away. Dante watched her crisp, decisive retreat and couldn’t help laughing. “Her temper matches my grandson’s perfectly!”

It was just a pity he failed to introduce the two of them again today.

Just as Leilani stepped out of the elevator, the doors to the private elevator on the other side slowly opened. Callahan stepped out, suit crisp, eyes cold.

The two passed each other.
