“The Mountain Pack werewolves are all dead. They died in their cells, all from poison… The killer escaped, wasn’t caught.”

Alpha Henry frowned and told Cam to continue the investigation.

Seeing his serious expression, Aubrey asked, “What’s wrong?”

“It’s nothing.” Alpha Henry didn’t want to worry her, so he didn’t say.

However, Aubrey said, “I want to know.”

She stared into his eyes, expressing her thoughts directly.

Alpha Henry gave a helpless smile and told her anyway. He then analyzed, “Not many people could do this and succeed. It might be someone from the Fog Pack. Maybe Bailey sent them to get revenge on you.”

Aubrey nodded. “Maybe, but there’s one other possibility.”

She looked at Alpha Henry. “Alpha Louis doesn’t have much time left. Six months at most, and he will die from physical decline.” She told Alpha Henry that she had actually been secretly sending the Alpha King medicine to help him maintain his failing body. But without her acupuncture, he couldn’t live much longer.

“And that exchange conference, Alpha Louis arranged that, didn’t he?” And the timing was chosen so cleverly, right when the Shadowmoon Pack was doing its annual summary, with the goal of making her go out alone.
