Chapter 151
Chapter 151:
Phillip sat in a campus cafe, anxiously awaiting Tristan’s arrival to share some news.
Time dragged on until Tristan finally burst through the door, his face contorted with anger.
Phillip felt his heart sink, wondering if there was a problem.
Before he could voice his concern, Tristan slid into the seat across from him, snatched up the coffee Phillip had ordered, and gulped it down.
His expression was severe as he said, “Phillip, I’ve embarrassed myself for you today. If you don’t pay me more, I can’t keep this up!”
The atmosphere tensed further as both men’s faces grew dark with frustration.
Phillip had already stretched his finances thin with the recent charity event and the bidding, even taking loans to cover costs. The $200,000 he had promised Tristan was supposed to be the limit.
How could Tristan demand more? It was clear—he was driven by greed.
Phillip clenched his fists tightly, his jaw set as he fought to control his rising temper.
But as he regained his composure, Phillip realized he had already spent a lot of money on this, and the school’s show was fast approaching. Finding a replacement now seemed nearly impossible.
With no other choice, he suppressed his fury for the sake of his plan.
With a forced grin, Phillip declared, “Fine. I’ll throw in an extra hundred thousand dollars once the job is done. But first, you need to tell me what’s happening with Ashton!”
Tristan’s smile returned. He explained, “I’ve done my investigation. Ashton’s set to be a piano accompanist for a choir tonight. He’s only in charge of the piano part.”
Pulling out his phone, Tristan showed Phillip a covertly recorded video of Ashton playing skillfully.

Watching Ashton’s adept performance only fueled Phillip’s envy more.
He shuddered at the thought of facing Ashton after the show if he allowed him to finish his performance unscathed. This realization deepened his resentment toward Ashton.
Even the mere sight of Ashton in the video was enough to make Phillip clench his teeth in anger as he declared, “We cannot let him have a successful performance. I’m going to…”
make sure he loses everything in front of everyone! Stay clear of Ashton for the next couple of days; we don’t want him getting suspicious. Just tamper with the piano he’s going to use the night before the event. Mess up the components so it fails during his performance.”
Phillip, while talking, handed Tristan a small bottle of glue.
Following Phillip’s directive, Tristan had avoided Ashton for the past few days.
It wasn’t until the night before the event that he slipped into the classroom under the cover of darkness.
Upon seeing the piano staged for the event, he let out a sigh of relief.
Wasting no time, Tristan opened the piano’s rear cover and applied glue to its internal components, ensuring it would malfunction. Satisfied that the piano was sabotaged, he exited the classroom, feeling triumphant.
He even snapped a few photos and texted Phillip.
