Liam’s crew had already been brought under control, and if left idle, they might cause trouble elsewhere. Keeping them occupied on the construction site seemed like the better option.
So, Ashton nodded in agreement.
He then led the group from the Black Dragon Gang toward the construction site.
However, before they reached their destination, Ashton took a moment to observe the gang members—marked by their colorful hair and striking tattoos—and couldn’t help but shake his head in mild dismay.
Turning to Liam, he said, “Hold on here for a moment. I’ll go inside first and give them a heads-up. You all look a bit too intimidating; you might scare off the remaining workers.”
Liam nodded, his demeanor a mix of awkwardness and patience, and awaited Ashton’s instructions.
As he headed back toward the office on the construction site, Ashton intended to call Rosalie and explain the new developments.
To his surprise, Rosalie was already there, seated gracefully at her desk, her expression contemplative.
Across from her sat Theo, a member of the Campbell family’s side branch, notorious for almost endangering Selena at the charity concert.
As Ashton approached, he overheard Theo’s voice, sharp and persuasive.
“Rosalie, you know the project is in a tight spot right now, don’t you? Every day of delay is costing us hundreds of thousands of dollars. I realize I messed up last time, but I want to make it right. I’ve got a crew ready to start. If you give the go-ahead, I can send them over immediately—they’ll help you get out of this bind.”
Rosalie remained seated, unaware of Ashton’s arrival. She sat there, her face a mask of neutrality, lost in thought.
