Chapter 230:

Ashton caught the signal and remained silent as well.

The yacht wasn’t particularly large, holding about thirty people comfortably. With over ten men suddenly boarding, the vessel began to sway.

However, what terrified Hayes more than the thought of the yacht capsizing was the fact that each of these newcomers was armed.

On such a small yacht, there was nowhere for Hayes to run, even if he tried to escape.

As this realization set in, Hayes shot a resentful glare at Ashton, shifting the blame. “This is all because of you! If you hadn’t interfered, we wouldn’t be in this mess!” Seizing the moment when his girlfriend Briley was unguarded, Hayes struck the back of her head, knocking her out.

Hayes then carried Briley over to Jacoby, chuckling nervously. “Mr. Marquez, I apologize for offending you earlier. This is my girl—do whatever you want with her. I don’t ask for much; just spare my life, and we can negotiate everything else.”

Jacoby glanced at Briley and nodded with approval. Although Briley didn’t possess the same breathtaking beauty as Rosalie, she was still attractive.

Jacoby patted Hayes’ face in a mocking gesture and said, “You’re smarter than I thought. Now, get out of here!” Feeling as if he had been granted a pardon, Hayes feared that Jacoby might change his mind if he delayed even a second. Without hesitation, he jumped into the water and fled from the yacht.

Turning his attention back to Ashton, Jacoby continued his provocation. “Alright, now it’s your turn. If you willingly offer your girl to me, I might just consider sparing you.”

Ashton continued to smile as he firmly responded, “There’s no need to consider anything. No one is going to lay a finger on my girlfriend.”

Rosalie’s eyes sparkled with admiration at Ashton’s strong declaration.

Unlike the other girls, who were crying out of fear, Rosalie had only felt slightly nervous. This was all because Ashton was there with her.

As she looked at Ashton’s back, Rosalie felt an immense sense of security wash over her.

She even found herself fantasizing that this strong and dependable figure was something she could admire for a lifetime without ever growing tired of it.

Taken aback by Ashton’s immediate refusal, Jacoby let out a cold laugh. “If you’re so eager to die, then I’ll gladly grant your wish.”

With that, he made a sweeping gesture, signaling his thugs to rush at Ashton.

But to his shock, Ashton fought back calmly, all while ensuring that Rosalie remained protected.

Jacoby’s smile faded as he watched his men fail to even get close to Ashton. They were taken down one by one. The scene unfolding before him seemed too surreal, even for a movie.

In such a confined space, protecting Rosalie while fending off multiple attackers required extraordinary skill from Ashton.

Part of the reason Ashton appeared so composed was because Roger and his men were blending in with the crowd.
