Chapter 257
Chapter 257:
The thought of Jacoby’s impending reaction filled Ashton with a dark satisfaction.
After concluding his call with Zeke, Ashton immediately dialed Charlie.
The article from Zeke was merely a warm-up; the true blow, the one that would crush Jacoby, was still to come.
Charlie picked up after just a few rings, his voice eager. “What’s the situation? Are we ready to move?” he quickly asked.
Ashton cut straight to the point, offering a brief explanation of the events.
He detailed how Rolland, pretending to be an architectural master, had managed to deceive quite a few people.
Charlie let out a cold laugh. “Don’t you worry—I’ll be sure to bring the real master over right away.”
No sooner had Ashton departed than Rosalie was engulfed by a wave of panic she could not explain.
The so-called architectural design master, who had dismissed her hard work as insignificant, had left her feeling stranded and unsupported, with no one coming to her aid.
Fortunately, Ashton returned just minutes after his initial departure.
Upon seeing Ashton’s return, Jacoby could not suppress his sneer. “You actually had the nerve to come back? I thought you would cower in the restroom indefinitely. Now that you’re here, you should apologize for questioning Rolland’s expertise.”
Rolland, feigning a magnanimous attitude, shook his head and remarked, “It’s really of no consequence. I don’t argue with those who lack understanding. What truly troubles me is the design of this exhibition hall. It occupies a prime location, yet the designs are flashy and impractical. It is such a waste. The more I examine it, the more distressed I become!”
Rolland and Jacoby worked in concert, persistently disparaging Rosalie’s design. Rolland’s feigned distress made the onlookers hesitate.

A few even started to shake their heads and make their way toward the exit.
To them, the exhibition hall’s decoration was impressive. However, the master’s words carried weight. If they doubted him, wouldn’t it reflect poorly on their own taste?
Witnessing the crowd’s reaction, Rosalie felt both wronged and powerless.
Her initial confidence began to erode, causing her to question the merit of her own design.
Observing Rosalie’s despondent state, Ashton leaned closer and whispered, “Do not let falsehoods undermine your confidence. Thus far, no one but that individual has questioned our design.”
Bolstered by Ashton’s words, Rosalie felt some of her composure return, though she remained silent. She recognized the truth in Ashton’s words, yet the impact on the audience was already evident.
Rosalie found herself at a complete loss, unsure of how to rectify the situation.
