After all, his overachieving brother would never acknowledge any fault on his part. If Jacoby dared argue back, it would only make his situation worse, and he might even find himself expelled from the Marquez family.

After pondering his options for a while, Jacoby decided it was best to lay the blame squarely on the members of the Lion Clan, at least for the time being.

In Jacoby’s view, if it were not for the incompetence of those fools—who had all been defeated—then it would have been Ashton facing ridicule instead of him.

The more Jacoby dwelled on this thought, the more convinced he became that it made perfect sense.

With his mind made up, Jacoby headed straight back to the company, determined to convince his brother to hire more capable individuals. He thought the best course of action would be to bring in someone truly formidable from Staville, someone who could eliminate Ashton without fail!

Initially, Jacoby had not expected that dealing with Ashton would require such significant effort.

However, as he recalled how many times Ashton had bested him and how easily Ashton’s life seemed to go on without a hitch, a fierce desire for revenge began to take root in Jacoby’s heart.

He resolved to be ruthless. Since Ashton didn’t know what was best for him, Jacoby would make sure Ashton learned his lesson the hard way.

Meanwhile, after checking on Bobby and ensuring that the elderly man was alright for the moment, Ashton said his farewells and left the hospital.

Ashton had barely stepped out of the hospital when his phone rang, and he saw it was a call from Rosalie.

“Ashton, do you have any plans for today? I have the day off, and I was thinking we could go out for dinner.”

Since Ashton had no pressing matters to attend to, he agreed to her invitation and soon made his way to the restaurant Rosalie had chosen.

After spending time together over the past few weeks, the bond between Ashton and Rosalie had grown noticeably stronger. They could both sense the feelings developing between them, but neither felt confident enough to voice those feelings openly.

They were both afraid that if they misinterpreted the other’s feelings and confessed, it might create awkwardness and strain, jeopardizing even their current friendship.

So, for the time being, both Ashton and Rosalie chose to keep their emotions to themselves.

Despite this unspoken tension, their relationship continued to flourish naturally.

As they shared their meal, the conversation flowed effortlessly, and they enjoyed each other’s company.

However, their peaceful moment was abruptly shattered. Out of nowhere, a strange and piercing scream erupted from the table next to theirs.

A man suddenly jumped up and shouted, “Who is in charge here? Where’s the manager? There’s a cockroach in my food!”
