Chapter 331
Chapter 331:
The restaurant manager came rushing over the instant he heard the man’s outraged yell.
When the manager spotted the cockroach floating in the soup on the table, his face turned pale. Bowing deeply, he apologized profusely, “I am truly sorry for ruining your meal. Please accept my sincerest apologies. You will not have to pay for any of your dishes today. I beg you not to be upset!”
The man who had stood up sneered in response, his tone dripping with contempt. “Do you really think you can brush off such a serious issue with a simple apology and a free meal? We are going to the hospital to get checked out. Between medical expenses and lost wages, I think you owe us a hundred thousand dollars!”
The manager’s face turned ashen when he heard the man demanding one hundred thousand dollars. Such an enormous amount was far beyond what he could handle.
Seeing the manager’s hesitation, the man’s expression darkened with anger. He barked, “I’ve already told you what you need to do. It is your choice. If I do not walk out of here with a hundred thousand dollars in my pocket, you can forget about keeping this restaurant open!”
At that moment, a little girl sitting at a nearby table pouted and whispered, “That man is lying. I saw him take the cockroach out of his own pocket and toss it into the food.”
The little girl’s voice wasn’t loud, but it carried clearly to those around her.
Suddenly, the man’s companions all leapt to their feet, slamming their fists on the table, and one of them shouted menacingly, “Who’s spreading lies around here? We will smash your mouth if you do not keep quiet!”
The little girl, having never encountered such a threatening scene, was terrified into tears.
Seeing the group of muscular men becoming aggressive toward a little girl caused Rosalie to scowl with disapproval.

However, before she could step in, she noticed Ashton had already moved, placing himself between the thugs and their young target.
With an icy glare, Ashton looked the men over and said, “Seriously? You are all grown men, and this is what you do? Intimidating a child? Or maybe you’re just upset because your little scheme has been found out?”
As the atmosphere grew more tense, the other diners began to murmur and exchange concerned looks.
Realizing they had drawn unwanted attention and that their underhanded tactics had been exposed, the group dropped any pretense of innocence.
The leader of the thugs smirked arrogantly and retorted, “You got that right. We’re not just here to scare a little girl. We’re after you as well!”
One of the goons noticed the restaurant manager pulling out his phone to call the police, and with a swift kick, he sent the manager sprawling to the floor. Almost instantly, the rest of the gang started flipping tables, all while slowly advancing on Ashton.
These men had a reputation for being some of the most ruthless enforcers in Inewood, and to them, beating someone up in a crowded place was just part of a day’s work.
