Chapter 344
Chapter 344:
Determination etched on her face, Celia moved with feline grace, each step calculated to draw every eye on the beach. Her gaze locked onto Ashton, a confident smile playing on her lips—a smile she knew could melt the hardest of hearts.
She sauntered up to him, her voice as smooth as silk. “Hey, long time no see! I never expected to run into you here.”
Celia had mastered the art of seduction, and she knew that most men, when approached by a woman as alluring as she, would fall into her web without a second thought.
But today, the game took an unexpected turn. As she neared the lounge chair where Ashton sat, he barely spared her a glance, his eyes lingering on the horizon as if she were nothing more than a passing shadow.
“I’m sorry, miss,” he replied, his tone as cool as the sea breeze. “I think you have me mistaken for someone else.”
And with that, he returned his gaze to the distant sea, his interest in her vanishing as quickly as it had appeared.
Celia’s confident facade cracked, her surprise a fleeting shadow across her features. Yet, she quickly regrouped, burying her frustration beneath a mask of poise.
Ever since she was a young girl, Celia had never failed to start a conversation with any man. But this time, she was met with a cold shoulder. Especially considering she was wearing that revealing swimsuit!
Could it be that he was playing hard to get?
Celia felt a pang of disbelief and decided to make a bold move. She managed to keep her chin up and cheekily sat down next to Ashton, giving him a playful wink.

In a flirtatious tone, Celia said, “Handsome, don’t be so cold. I just want to get to know you. Look at how bright the sun is today. Could you help me apply some suntan lotion?” As she spoke, Celia licked her lips.
She had used her trump card, confident that Ashton would fall for her charm.
Hearing Celia’s request, Ashton raised his eyebrows slightly and began to study her.
As Ashton’s eyes roamed over her, Celia felt a mix of nervousness and a surge of smug satisfaction.
Sure enough, her instincts had been right. Even a man like Ashton, who pretended to be all serious, couldn’t resist her charms for long.
But Celia couldn’t have guessed that, while Ashton appeared to be scrutinizing her, his thoughts were elsewhere, his mind calculating other possibilities.
He carefully observed the girl and judged her figure to be about an eight out of ten. If Rosalie was the standard for a ten-point beauty, this girl’s face might be a seven. Overall, she was indeed a beautiful girl.
A girl like her was likely accustomed to being surrounded by attractive men. It was unlikely she would initiate a conversation without a good reason.
So Ashton glanced back. As expected, he spotted a group of girls, led by Vivian, watching from the crowd in the distance.
