Chapter 384
Chapter 384:
Embracing her newfound sense of entitlement, Dora began to behave like a petulant child seeking attention. “Can you help me figure out how to ask him for help? I’ve been really unhappy because of the theft. The way he’s treating me now is making me even more upset.”
“If things keep going like this, I’m worried I might end up with depression.”
Dora’s flirtatious voice stirred excitement among the men who admired her.
A tall, bronze-skinned boy with a beaming smile was particularly enthusiastic.
Upon hearing Dora’s words, he swiftly approached the massage sofa where Ashton lay. He prodded Ashton’s shoulder with his finger and arrogantly commanded, “Stop acting so high and mighty. Quit being shameless. Get up and help her look for her lost items. Do you understand?”
Ashton’s gaze turned icy as he responded, “I’ll say this only once. Don’t touch me.”
While the others might not have noticed, Flint Diaz, the cheerful boy, felt a sudden chill when he met Ashton’s stare, prompting him to quickly step back.
The rest of the group was confused by Flint’s retreat and assumed Ashton had provoked it.
So, they all scolded Ashton. One of them shouted, “Don’t get too full of yourself. How dare you intimidate us? Do you really think we’re cowards?”
“That’s right! Get up now. Everyone else has come to help, but you just shamelessly lie there,” another man urged. Hearing the crowd’s accusations, Ashton chose not to engage with them. He didn’t respond, merely yawned, closed his eyes, and continued resting.
Ashton’s demeanor deeply annoyed the impulsive men, particularly Flint, who was unsettled by the intensity of Ashton’s gaze.
Perhaps to salvage his pride in front of Dora, Flint was the first to act, attempting to roughly pull Ashton from the massage sofa.
Seeing this, the others joined in to assist.
As they approached to drag him up, Ashton no longer felt obliged to be courteous.
As they reached for him, Ashton pushed them away effortlessly, causing them to stagger and nearly lose their balance.
At that moment, Ashton detected a faint perfume on the men’s hands.
As a doctor, he had a highly developed sense of smell. While studying medicine, Ashton had specifically sharpened his sense of smell.
Thus, even if the scent vanished quickly, he still recognized it as a type of women’s perfume.
However, these men didn’t give Ashton much time to ponder. Embarrassed by Ashton in front of a lovely lady, their anger flared.
When Ashton pushed them earlier, they realized he was not someone easily handled.
Left with no other options, they resorted to criticizing Ashton for his aloofness.
Unfortunately, this approach did not affect Ashton. He simply yawned and lay back, entirely unmoved by the chatter around him.
Seeing Ashton’s indifferent response, Flint quickly devised another strategy.
