Ashton trailed behind the two women, casually scanning for any potential hidden gems.

Suddenly, as they approached a vendor’s stall, Ashton stopped abruptly.

Tucked away in the corner of the stall, an ancient painting that looked quite worn was carelessly discarded, barely catching anyone’s eye.

Just point it out, and I’ll make you a great deal!” the stall owner said, chuckling.

Ashton nodded and pointed to the worn-out ancient painting in the corner, asking, “How much for this painting?”

Seeing Ashton’s interest in what seemed like mere trinkets, the stall owner felt a bit let down. These items, typically sourced from rural areas, weren’t expected to fetch much money.

However, seeing the youthful appearance of Ashton and his friends, the stall owner quickly concocted a plan.

Slapping his thigh, he moved closer and began to praise, saying, “You’ve got a keen eye, young man! This isn’t just any painting. It was painted by a renowned artist 400 years ago. Sadly, the artist made some enemies due to a mistake, and very few of his pieces remain today. I acquired it from an elderly lady after much effort—and ten… Ahem, one hundred thousand was what it cost me. It seems fate has brought you to this treasured piece. I’ll let you have it for only ten thousand, a fitting price for someone destined to own it!”

Abrial, who had also walked over, glanced at the painting Ashton was interested in and slightly frowned.
