Chapter 400
Chapter 400:
In such a grim scenario, did this young man really believe he could play the hero? Did he actually think he could fend off eight attackers alone, like some movie scene? With a scoff, Corey mocked Ashton, “What era do you think this is, still dreaming of playing the hero?” Then, he instructed his henchmen, “Go hit him first, I want to see how he keeps up his act after that!”
The thugs were already irked by Ashton, who was monopolizing the attention of two attractive women and planning to challenge them to impress the ladies.
No way! They wouldn’t let it happen.
Yet, as they charged toward Ashton with ill intent, in the blink of an eye, they were all knocked back by a sweeping leg kick, flung over ten feet away!
These hefty men, weighing around 200 pounds, crashed into Corey’s stall, shattering the merchandise on display. Everyone there was stunned, particularly the overly confident stall owner, Corey. Kicking several heavy men away with a single kick? Seriously?
It was more unbelievable than a scene from a film! Ashton remained cool and composed, casually criticizing the items at Corey’s stall.
“This painting is fake; the paper from that era was never this smooth, regardless of aging. That vase is a recent make; its fake aging is overly obvious, failing to mimic the natural patina of true antiques. The purple clay teapot, however, is genuine and quite a rare piece. It’s a shame your men broke it; now it’s probably only worth about fifty dollars, and that’s with free shipping.”
What many had expected to be an uneven brawl turned into a solo performance by Ashton.
As he reviewed Corey’s merchandise, he simultaneously dispatched the thugs, who were now writhing on the ground in pain.
When Ashton walked toward Corey, all of Corey’s henchmen were down, incapable of movement.

Seeing Ashton approach, Corey screamed as if he’d encountered a ghost, and in his terror, he even wet himself.
At that moment, Corey abandoned any semblance of dignity. He fell to his knees, repeatedly bowing and pleading for mercy. “Man, I admit my mistake. Take whatever you want, I’ll refund your money. Just please let me go!”
Ashton looked down at the tearful Corey with disdain.
“Let you go? Did you ever consider letting us go?”
Lost for words, Corey bowed deeper in desperation.
But Ashton had no tolerance for such theatrics. He scoffed, “You wouldn’t be in this mess if you hadn’t been so greedy. I might have thought about your offer if you had upped it ten or even a hundred times, but you backed out after we concluded a deal? Then you can’t blame me for this.”
With those words, Ashton struck Corey’s face with a punch, knocking him out cold.
Corey slumped into the puddle he had created.
The bystanders watched in awe.
No wonder this refined young man had confidently ventured into this tumultuous black market with two stunning women.
