“What do you need me to do?” Abrial asked.

Ashton promptly pulled out a piece of paper and a pen from his bag and wrote down a list of medicinal herbs. He then handed it to Abrial. “The sooner, the better. These are life-saving medicines.”

Without waiting for Abrial’s reply, Ashton placed the note in her hand and quickly squatted down to retrieve acupuncture needles from his bag.

Once sterilized with heat, the still-warm needles began to pierce Levi’s body one by one.

Though the Carter family members were unfamiliar with medical techniques, they recognized acupuncture. Yet, they had never witnessed this method before. They saw the old man, previously comatose and in apparent pain, grimace even more as the needles were inserted.

Tension mounted among the onlookers, some of whom wanted to intervene. However, fearing potential repercussions, they held back.

Watching his family members passively observe an outsider treat his grandfather, Craig felt a mix of confusion and worry. Yet, he recognized an opportunity to assert himself.

Craig said, “Ashton, have you had enough? Look at my grandfather’s face; it’s getting worse! Are you holding a grudge and trying to harm him?”

Ashton paused his work and turned, his gaze icy and daunting. “Either keep quiet or leave. Don’t make a fool of yourself here.”

Craig wanted to respond, but the words escaped him. For a moment, Ashton’s intense gaze made him tremble without thinking.

After his stern warning, Ashton disregarded Craig and resumed his treatment of Levi.

Shortly afterward, Craig managed to collect himself and observed Ashton’s efforts to save his grandfather. Rather than feeling thankful, he harbored deep resentment. He secretly wished his grandfather would not recover, allowing him to confront Ashton directly.

Nevertheless, under Ashton’s urgent care, everyone could see Levi’s expression soften after an initial grimace of pain, his look becoming less tortured.

Additionally, Levi’s complexion, initially pale and unappealing, began to warm up to a healthier, rosier hue. Just then, Abrial rushed back, barely stopping her car properly before jumping out and running to Ashton with the medicine.

The medicine had been prepared into a powder form as instructed.

After a brief check to confirm its authenticity, Ashton quickly prepared the medicine and administered it to Levi.

Upon receiving the medicine, Levi’s complexion deepened to an even healthier shade of red before the observers.

Just when everyone thought they could relax, they suddenly noticed that Levi’s face was bright red. Just as doubts began to creep in, they suddenly heard Levi let out a strange cry and then spit out a mouthful of blood.

The Carter family members were taken aback and terrified, having never seen such a reaction. They instinctively blamed the adverse effects on Ashton’s treatment, fearing it might be fatal.
