Deciding it was best not to stay any longer, Ashton readied himself to continue with his interview process and stepped out of the line.
As Ashton departed, Nolan and his group erupted in laughter.

Carlotta was puzzled by Ashton’s actions. He had seemed resolute just a moment ago, so why the sudden departure? Was it possible that he had lost his nerve, as they suggested?
Disappointed, Carlotta shook her head, but her resolve kept her firmly in place, refusing to let Nolan and his group bypass her in line.

Despite feeling intimidated, Carlotta bit her lip nervously and turned away, steadfast in her decision to wait for her interview without yielding.
After exiting the line of applicants, Ashton returned to the company’s interview room.
