Chapter 444
Chapter 444:
Ashton simply shook his head and answered, “That’s not what I’m saying.”
Ellis looked at Ashton as if he were a naive farm boy, completely out of his element in the city.
Ellis scoffed, “So, you admit the building isn’t yours, and you aren’t renting it. Are you planning to commandeer it then? Who do you think you are, thinking you can just claim the rooftop of this building?”
The laughter erupted anew around them.
But the laughter quickly faded.
Suddenly, the wind on the rooftop grew fierce. To their astonishment, an armed helicopter began its descent toward the landing pad.
As the young models spotted the military insignia on the helicopter, their faces turned ashen with shock. Ellis, overwhelmed by fear, nearly fell to the ground. Two heavily armed soldiers emerged from the helicopter and walked up to Ashton.
They saluted him and respectfully asked him to join them on the helicopter.
Ashton nodded casually and began walking toward the helicopter with them. After a few steps, he paused and looked back at Ellis.
“Now that you’ve witnessed all this, you’d better stay right here until I return. And keep this to yourself. If not, it’s you who will have to answer for the Byrd family’s downfall!”
After delivering his final words, Ashton didn’t wait for Ellis to respond. He turned and leaped onto the helicopter, not looking back.
Ellis’ eyes widened in shock, and he staggered backward, losing his footing and tumbling into the swimming pool behind him. It seemed that Ellis, anxious about having offended someone important, had his legs cramp from fear, and he nearly drowned in the shallow pool.
Seeing this, the alarmed female models nearby hurried to help Ellis to the edge of the pool.

After spitting out a few mouthfuls of water, Ellis jumped to his feet, looking visibly shaken, his gaze fixed in terror on the swiftly departing helicopter. He seemed dazed for a long time, even after the helicopter had vanished from sight.
Meanwhile, Ashton reached a secluded military base in the mountains outside Staville by helicopter.
The base’s conference room was already filled with high-ranking officials from various sectors of Staville, surprising even Ashton, who was accustomed to grand scenes.
At that moment, a woman in a camouflage uniform approached Ashton and gave him a slight nod.
“Good to meet you, Mr. Baldwin. I’m Milena Lyons, the intelligence officer who reached out to you. We’ve uncovered new information about Fraser based on your report. To keep things secret, we need to speak with you directly,” she explained.
Ashton nodded, taking in the solemn faces around him. “It appears Fraser’s actions were more severe than I anticipated. It seems my suspicion that he’s part of the Dark Night Organization is correct.”
