Unaware of the brewing disaster, Kirsten mocked Ashton with a smirk, “Leaving already? Scrambling to assemble a PR team? Regardless, I remain a beloved celebrity. You rejected my offer and chose to cross me; now you’re beyond saving!”

Carlton also sneered at Ashton, adding, “I heard you’re at odds with Sup Group. Rather than trying to salvage your own firm’s image, you might want to think about how you’ll defend yourself once Skyline Group disowns you.”

In response to their smug looks, Ashton chuckled dryly. “Thanks for the concern, but it might be wise for you to reflect on your own predicament. Calamity has struck, and you’re blissfully unaware. Truly amusing!”

Kirsten and Carlton shared a dismissive laugh, convinced Ashton was just bluffing. They dismissed his caution without a second thought.

With an arrogant laugh, Kirsten retorted, “Oh? Planning to unveil some supposed proof? Do you think it will change anything? Didn’t you notice how those fools mindlessly defended me just moments ago?”

Ashton simply offered a smile and continued on his way, leaving without a word.

Kirsten and Carlton just watched him go, their faces twisted into scornful grins. They thought of Ashton as nothing more than a cowardly dog slinking away in defeat.

Their sense of victory, however, was fleeting. Shortly thereafter, Kirsten’s phone vibrated.

Suspecting another ploy by Ashton, Kirsten took out her phone, only to discover the call was from her own management.

Before she could utter a greeting, the stern voice of the general manager cut in, saying, “Pack your things and leave immediately.”

Kirsten, still clueless, laughed playfully. “What new role have you got for me?”

As of now, you and Carlton are no longer part of this company. Moreover, your misconduct has caused severe damage to our reputation. You are required to return three times what you’ve earned as specified in your contract. We’ve moved to freeze your bank accounts. If you fail to pay, your assets, including your houses and cars, will be confiscated to cover the debts.”

Kirsten was stunned, her mind unable to process the information. She quickly retorted, “What are you talking about? We haven’t done anything wrong. You can’t just fire us!”

“Nothing wrong? Check the internet and see the extent of your ‘shocking actions’ for yourself!” The call ended abruptly, leaving Kirsten no chance to argue.

Shaking, she scrambled to search for news about herself online, but she didn’t have to look far. The front pages of numerous websites were dominated by the leaked recording of her conversation with Carlton in the lounge.

In that instant, Kirsten and Carlton truly understood the weight of Ashton’s parting remark, and they crumpled to the floor in utter despair.

The resolution of the Kirsten incident unfolded far more smoothly than Ashton had anticipated, largely due to the fact that she had dug her own grave.

Within days, the once-scandal-ridden branch of Skyline Group experienced a revival, thanks to Kirsten’s public fall from grace.
