After Selena’s harsh warning, Keira was left speechless, watching in humiliation as Selena confidently led Ashton away.
Throughout the encounter, Ashton didn’t even spare Keira a glance.
Watching them walk away, Keira furiously stamped her foot and muttered bitterly, “Just you wait!”
It wasn’t until they had left the station and returned to the car that Selena, prompted by Ashton’s soft cough, finally relaxed her tight hold on his arm.
As she tossed her backpack onto the back seat and settled into the passenger seat, she playfully sought approval from Ashton, giggling. “Ha-ha! Ashton, did I do well just now? Any rewards for me?”
Ashton’s face flushed with a hint of embarrassment, yet he attempted to maintain a stern expression as he responded, “Selena, you’re an adult now; you can’t be so frivolous.”
Unperturbed, Selena countered, “I wasn’t being frivolous at all. Besides you, no one else stands a chance to be close to me!”
Her words carried an ambiguous tone, leaving Ashton even more discomfited.
Before he could further advise Selena, she briskly changed the subject. “Oh, forget about that. Ashton, what’s this about you guys asking me to be a spokesperson?”
After catching a glimpse of her sincere eyes, Ashton felt slightly relieved, thinking to himself that perhaps he worried unnecessarily. He reassured himself quietly and then proceeded to explain the recent events to Selena, including their plans to shoot a promotional video the following day. Selena, who had always been looked after by her sister and Ashton, felt glad to be of assistance.
The next morning, Ashton arrived early at the studio with Selena and the crew.
While awaiting the setup of the equipment, he intended to check Selena’s health.

Unexpectedly, upon entering the studio’s lounge, they were met with a hostile glare.
Ashton’s brow furrowed as he recognized the person—it was Keira, whom they had encountered at the station the previous day.
It was clear Keira still harbored resentment from last night’s incident.
Upon spotting Ashton, she immediately sneered, “So, you’re not the wealthy heir who invited me here in the first place?”
Ashton cast a calm glance at her and replied smoothly, “No, I never was.”
Keira’s expression darkened with disdain upon hearing this. “You seem respectable, so why are you such a repulsive person? Why didn’t you clarify things back then? Were you harboring fantasies about me?”
Before Ashton could speak, Selena cut in sharply, “Don’t think I didn’t catch that earlier. Ashton already told you the truth. It’s your refusal to believe that’s the issue. Are you now trying to blame him? I’ve never encountered anyone as shameless as you!”
Taken aback by Selena’s rebuke, Keira’s demeanor shifted instantly.
Yet, Selena didn’t allow her a moment to interject. “Furthermore, Ashton and my sister share a wonderful bond. My sister is even lovelier than I am! I truly don’t understand where you get the audacity to imply Ashton would be interested in you. Unless he’s blind, he would never be attracted to someone like you!”
